Amazing to me but true. My innocuous, silly, good-natured posts (which are mixed in with lots of hard-core, baseball-adoring, history-respecting posts by me) have now gotten me kicked off both ESPN.com and MLB.com message boards after long and highly successful runs there attracting many thousands of viewers every month.

So, not that I want it to happen, but I expect some day in the near future I will also be tossed off the two remaining media sites on which I have threads -- SI and Sporting News, two publications to which I subscribe and read.

Freedom of expression obviously does not extend to these message boards, where (it seems) one or two people can secretly acuse you of being undesirable, and then without any warning, explanation, or recourse, you are gone. And there are always snitches in any group of people, who get off on deep-sixing people from their sick, anonymous little hiding places.

As an older guy with time to indulge in such things, I'm wondering what the ACLU would say about such stuff. Maybe I'll look into that.
