Is that the girl with a Jay Cutler profile pic?
Hey, I like Tom Brady as a Qb but look at my profile pic.
How do you expect anything from Cutler.. when he spends all his time either A) flat on his behind or B) running for his life. Cutler isn't the problem in Chicago.. its the Line built from late round rejects and overpriced free agents.
Oh and.. who did you want to start over Cutler? Todd Collins? Yea no thanks. Dan LeFevour? Maybe in a few years, who knows how he'll turn out. Nah, I'll take Cutler and be happy to. Just wish he had an offensive line to go with..
It may be almost as bad as David Carr's first year, on his butt wise, but when he does manage to get a pass off, cant it be said it usually falls into a defender's hands?
Well since you're basing this off preseason, I'd say no not really. He's thrown the same amount of interceptions (2) as Payton Manning, not to say they're even close to equatable. I'd say in general he's looked lost desperate with midget receiver (Hester) being forced upon him as his #1". The same midget who bless his heart, isn't bright enough to be a receiver in the first place. Are there better quarterbacks than Jay Cutler? Yes! Do the Bears have any on their roster? Sadly no. That being said, I'm still willing to put my faith in Cutler. Just have to hope all that ability of his comes together with some smart decision making.
He's starting because they traded for him and he was a good qb until he arrived in Chicago. He was never a savior, but Bears fans made him one. The team refused to sign better receivers (even though alot of people thought it was a good move). You liked him when he got there so now handle it. He is better suited for the west coast offense (it is also complicated, but can be adjusted to fit the qb). Why they hired Martz is beyond anyone because the game has passed him by. They didn't even attempt to talk to Kyle Shanahan. He has regressed since he arrived and it all falls on the coaches, management, ownership. He is the biggest victim in the entire situation because he has just fallen into the same trap that Orton and Grossman fell into. Alot of people blamed Turner when it wasn't his fault in the end. His firing served him well because he is now employed by Indy. The Bears did Cutler dirty and that's wrong.

The Cowboys looked even better in their game...NOT
Chicago only choose Martz as OC after everyone else said no.. I had little hope after the Bears failed to attract both Jeremy Bates for the offense and Fewell for the defense.
Cutler has medical issues with diabetes and sometimes watching him play is quite painful. Too inconsistent and the bears fans are in for a long season.

Pull Cutler out of the equation, how many would say P. Manning, Roethlisberger, Romo, Brady or Breese would have any more success with the Bears at this point?
I didn't hear any Bear fan say Cutler was elite, messiah or savior as some claim, he was elected to the Pro-Bowl in 08 and is one part of a team and is certainly a better Q.B. than the Bears have had in the last 2 decades. It takes a team as a whole to make it to and win a Superbowl a Q.B. does not do it by himself, an integral part of the team true enough but not by himself by a long shot. From the Owner all the way down to the second stringers plays key roles in getting to and winning a Superbowl.
It's why it's called a Football TEAM, Definition of a Football Team is: "A small number of people with complementary skills who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and approach for which they are mutually accountable."
Those grinding on Cutler simply have an axe to grind, did he throw picks? he sure did, were they all his fault? no they weren't. If you win all is forgiven, all the picks all the off field issues etc is excused if you win. 32 teams in the NFL only 1 will get to and win a Superbowl if you judge solely on this that makes 31 other Q.B.'s/teams who are failures. When was the last time the team you back made it to and won a Superbowl? One could make the case 31 other Q.B.'s shouldn't be starting as well.

Wake me up when Cutler does anything to support the notion that he is a good, let alone elite, NFL quarterback.
the only thing elite about Cutler is his arm stregnth.... then again Jamarcus Russell has an elite cannon for an arm too...hmmmmmm

At least the Raiders had the balls (what?!?! no way) to cut JaFatso Russel Stover Frosty cakes loose.
Yeah, Rex Grossman might have been terribad, but that terribad qb led them to the super bowl.
Cutler?
Not even close

First, Romo has to get rid of his fumbling problem, and throwing INTs in big games. he has no excuse for receivers, even cutting loose owens.
Rothlesberger (spelling, know) didnt have great stats but a good D and run game (big ben is the worst qb, stat wise in the game, to ever win a SB)
Brady and Manning and even Bress (especially Brees) are just too accurate to use the receiver excuse: you could have donkeys line up and they'd still throw 65%-70% completions no problem

The Defense/Team got Grossman to the Superbowl not Grossman alone. TEAM being the key word. Some would say Grossman lost them the Superbowl I would say the TEAM lost the Superbowl.

It's not just the W.R.'s it's about the TEAM as a whole, the receivers and Q.B. are a part of a TEAM, the O-Line is also a part of a TEAM. The Bears O-Line are one of the worse in the league right now add that to the W.R.'s and any Q.B. I mentioned would have difficulty staying upright and completing passes period. Hard to be accurate from laying on your back 9 sacks in two games if it would continue would equal 72 sacks on the season. Combined with the W.R.'s and any Q.B. would be nervous about staying in the pocket for more than a couple seconds, combined with new scheme/O-Coordinator and trust of the W.R.'s and O-Line is key.

I know it's all team, GSH. And you're right, of course. I'm just sick of hearing about Cutler. He was a whiny, arrogant puke in Denver, then he stamped his little feet to get out of there when he wasn't getting his way. I think the Bears made a bad decision (again) in trying to get a quick fix (again) at QB (again). Maybe I'm wrong here, but it's like the Bears are snake bit regarding finding the right quarterback.
That makes two of us sick of hearing about Cutler, it is what it is, everyone has their perception of the Denver drama I have mine as well but it does differ from seeing him as a whiny or arrogant and all most know is what was written by the media trying to sell their stories. Nobody knows what was said or done behind the closed doors at dove valley nor even if Cutler returned the phone calls etc. it's all speculation and media reports and water under the bridge at this point.
My point is the Bears whole team from the McCaskeys down to the second third string players are to blame for the problems not just the Q.B. Lovie, although some only see him as a young coach who took a team to a Superbowl is horrible. He lives and dies by his beloved Tampa 2 defense and is so predictable it's like other coaches are playing chess while he is playing checkers. In this day and age of the NFL you have to be a little creative and who in their right mind plays such a soft coverage with their corners when it's third and 6-7 and the corners are giving 5-6 yard cushions?
People like to pick a Q.B. as the sole reason a team wins or loses and in reality most times there is several reasons when you examine the game film more closely, football is a game of inches sometimes a pick here or a missed route there, a missed tackle or field goal can all be reasons a team loses but the Q.B.'s pick is the one thing people seem to focus on. I and all Bear fans know all to well Cutler threw several picks last year, several were not his fault other than he threw it, the troubling ones were inside the 20. Orton the year before last would have thrown it away and would have settled for a field goal assuming the field goal would have been made. Looking at the scores of games the Bears lost by more than any field goal so it wouldn't have mattered anyway other than the pick. The Bears defense was terrible last year giving up points like it was candy but yet it was Cutlers fault it was the TEAMS fault both offensively and defensively and the coaching with Lovie calling his own defense.
I dont know who would be whiney-er: Cutler or Romo.
I mean, yeah, Romo has had far more success, but still, look where both teams are. Seriously, you really can't mention the words 'Contender' and 'Bears' in the same sentence.
Its the same feeling I get about the Jets: SI said about a month or two ago that Mark Sanchez and the Jets were Super Bowl bound? are you freaking kidding me?
They said in a few years Matt Ryan was going to win in all. C'mon, man!
But hey, big ben and eli manning won it, so anything is possible , right?
