Gah. I don't want to confuse you with Becca. :(

I don't get BTN either. It's premium channel and I'm too cheap.

Kind of dissapointing that the only games I will be able to see are the Southern Miss South carolina and USC Hawaii games. There is at least one (Utah Pitt) that I think is going to be a better game.

They will be playing for pride. At some programs, that's enough. We shall see if USC is one of those programs.

It's possible they could make a run of it with a new coach, the quest for respectability, avenging the "What's your deal?" game, etc. Auburn went undefeated in Terry Bowden's first season while banned from bowls in 1993.
I agree, Tin Man, that Pitt-Utah looks like the best game today...and I won't be able to see it either.

I will watch the USM/SCar game, but will probably go to bed before the Hawaii/USC(left) game. I'm sure there are some Vol fans that will stay up and cheer themselves hoarse pulling for the Warriors, though.
Stupid DirectTV just gave me 3 months of free "Sports Upgrade package", so I guess I won't switch to Dish just yet, even though my generally cheap tendencies make me want to.

Why pointless? USC has nothing more or less to lose or gain than pretty much every non-BCS program now. Although the loss of a bowl is certainly significant they still have a shot at the AP #1 if they run the table.

Double checked with the local drinking/sporting establishment-they get VS so I shall be a loyal customer for the season. Its insane how bad the MWC hosed up when they gave up on ESPN.

Sorry, Trix. I hadn't seen Catwoman's blog yet. I meant no disrespect when I saw the avatar. I understand the tribute now.

Oh, none taken at all. :) I figured as much. Most of these lines don't cross, in that way.
Yea, just for today. I will have PSU up soon though.

It is too late for me, VR. U-Verse will teach me the true nature of sports television.

That's true in theory, but how likely is the AP to actually vote for the undefeated, unbowled Trojans over a one-loss BCS Title Game champion? In 1993, when FSU and Notre Dame had both lost one of their last four games, all of the major media outlets selected FSU over undefeated, bowl-ineligible Auburn, which had just finished beating the defending National Champions.
For USC, this season is very important - nothing pointless about it. They need to put their talent to the best possible use, keep winning so that the fans and future recruits do not lose interest, and lay a good foundation for future teams that will be bowl eligible. The Ogre can remind prospects that USC will be allowed to get back into bowls by the time they are hitting their junior and senior seasons. With all the talent around them, recruiting doesn't have to fall off a cliff - if they keep winning. This year and next could be the difference between a 2- or 3-year drought from national relevance and a 5- or 6-year drought. There's plenty for the Trojans to play for.
