NFL  > General NFL  > Bears got lucky ? Nope.

Called it 17-14, but what the hey ...

Lucky? Lucky?! The Lions were lucky. They were lucky they were in this game right up until the last seconds because we kicked their ****in **** up and down the field all day.

* The Lions had 20 lousy yards rushing. 168 yards total to the Bears' 465.

* The Lions had 13 first downs to the Bears' 23.

* The Lions averaged 2.9 yards per play to the Bears' 6.6

We kicked the crap out of them but kept fumbling the ball back to them.

Lovie Smith is lucky though. That motherbanger got out of jail thanks to Jay Cutler. You're a point down and you haven't been successful running it up the gut when the opposition knows it's a run. They have one of the biggest and best lines in football. What does Lovie do on 4th and goal? Attempts to piss away yet another game, that's what. Detroit loses their franchise QB early in the game, can't move the ball, but Lovie somehow still manages to do everything he could to hand them the game. But everyone on here knows he's a moron, so that's all moot.

No surprises whatsoever today though ...

* Low-scoring game full of cluster-****. Check.

* The Omelette has no place on this team. Kevin Shaffer please? Check.

* Peppers and Harris can still bring it. Check.

* A lot of people need to eat crow on the Urlacher hate. Check.

* A lot of people need to eat crow on the Forte hate. Check.

* A lot of people need to eat crow on the Cutler hate. Check.

* Lovie Smith was oxygen deprived at birth and will cost us games as a result. Check.

* Johnny Knox and Devin Hester haven't got a f**kin clue what they're doing. Check.

But a win is a win and we're on top. We'll get better. Omelette will get benched. Shabba will be crowned. Someone will figure out that we should be throwing a lot more screen passes and not run the ball behind Kreutz. Bring on Dallas.

To be honest.. Omiyale and the line played decent, most sacks were coverage sacks. Cutler has to get the ball out faster..

* Peppers and Harris can still bring it. Check.

Peppers had the nice strip/sack and drew double teams, but I didn't see Harris bringing it..

* A lot of people need to eat crow on the Cutler hate. Check.
He threw into quadruple coverage on an early 3rd and 20.. He calmed down, but I'm still wary that he'll try to force something..

If you can't face that the Bears were lucky on Megatron's catch/no catch, you're drinking a little too much koolaid. I agree the Bears played great on defense, but where was that defense on the last drive against... Shaun Hill?

Wins a win indeed..

Megatron's reception was incomplete. Ruled on twice.

Harris had constant pressure, released Peppers, and recovered a fumble.

Omelette on whiff alone let Cutler get blindisded and stripped. He sucks. Period.

No Jay Cutler, no victory.

QUOTE(#8):

The Lions got robbed on that call, BUT a couple things here:First, the last TD not standing wasn't the ref's fault ... he called it based on the rule that was on the books. It's the rule that should be tossed out.And QUICKLY!Second, if the Lions hadn't let the Bears score all those points before the end of the first half, the refs call wouldn't have been an issue.Play a good enough game and you won't put the refs (or in this case a bogus rule) in a position to steal the win from you.

Agreed BGII, although the Bears tried to give this one to them with four turnovers, they held decisive advantages in total yards [463-168] and first downs [23-13].
