This should have been started 3 years ago...The man stinks

As bad as Smith was on Sunday, I blame a lot of it on the teams lack of playing it's starters in the pre-season. I've never heard of a neck sprain lasting a month...Crabtree hasn't been in the league long enough to have veteran treatment like that. He needs to be treated like a rookie all over again. Gore will be fine, but I would have liked to see the otehr guys play as well...maybe Dixon with his size could have worn down the defense a little...

I think another killer is our secondary...could our CBs be any slower?!! If we don't draft one with speed (or talent would be nice) this year, I'm gonna be pissed! After getting smoked like we did, I can't figure out why Taylor Mays didn't get in the game. There's no way he's not as good as Lewis right now. Our secondary is going to be suspect at best all season...I have a bad feeling about the Saints game coming up!!! Our secondary against Brees is going to be ugly...especially if we don't get any pressure on him like we failed to do this last game...

The 49ers did draft speed in the secondary when they drafted Mays. This game was lost by the offense not the defense. The defense gave the offense the ball early in the game and they could not score, they were in the Red Zone 3 times and only came up with 6 points this resulted in one of the momentum swings. The offense went on to throw 2 interceptions and one of those was returned for a TD.
