Tennis  > General Tennis  > Roger Federer must add some new wrinkles
September 14, 2010, 05:23 PM
Congratulations to Rafael Nadal for winning a much-deserved U.S. Open. He has worked on improving his game and it has paid dividends. For Roger Federer to challenge Nadal for the top spot, he must throw in some new wrinkles. And whom better to work with than Paul Annacone who greatly assisted Pete Sampras. If Federer incorporates some variety into his game, we may see some interesting results in 2011. If he doesn't, there will more of the same.

am always rooting for Federer but it seems he may have peaked already, its hard to see how he's going to improve his game, I'd love to see him beating Nadal again though!

I root for him too Jamesbo but would like to see him come to net a bit more. He may have beaten Novak with a few "chip and charges" like Pete did. He did add a dropshot so it shows he can add wrinkles.

Federer adding Annacone was a great decision. His game is still there (Australian Open Title , Toronto Finals, Cincinnati Title), but his consistency is starting to go. I don't expect Fed to be #1 again, but I do expect him to win more slams.

Nadal should get credit for his accomplishments, but nobody dominates like Federer at his best.

Roger has some more majors in his future.
