NHL  > General NHL  > Edmonton Oilers: News Item - Sheldon Souray Not "Welcome" at Camp
September 15, 2010, 12:52 PM
So ... Steven Tambellini isn't even given Souray the chance to "make things right" with the Oil by putting in a good camp; proving he might still belong and even make a contribution ...

Is there more happening here we're not entirely aware of? Like, because of Souray's predisposition to get injured (usually by losing fights), would the Oilers be on the hook for his entire salary if he hurt himself (again) in camp? That would seem to make sense: keeping him out of camp, they still have to pay him, but at least they have a better shot at moving him - and that $9 Million salary owed this year - if he's "healthy" ...

Or ... Is something else going on here?

Like, did Souray get caught "playin' Parcheesi" with a goalie's wife, or a television news anchor, perhaps?
