NFL  > Dallas Cowboys  > Not The Same Cowboys

Dallas wins in the 90s.... we have Jimmy Johnson, Aikman, Irvin, Smith
Dallas struggles continue today...... we have Wade, Romo, Williams, Barber
Not saying these guys aren't capable of winning championships, but they
are a long way off at this point. Just don't see the same dedication/discipline
in this group. And where is the leader on this team? Losing just seems to
bother fans more than some of the players. Very frustrating and it might
get worse......

I saw no boot legs or roll outs, or anything that would show me the RHG was a genius, but I did see plenty of do nothing plays. They got away from the running game when it was starting to get untracked. A team gets one dimensional, usually they get beat.
But Jerry Jones will have Papa John's pizza at Cowboys Stadium tho. YaY Jerry! Enjoy your pizza while you can! His treat too!.....I had suspected early in preseason that this was not going to be a good year, and it looks like that may just happen.

We need coaches, plain and simple.

September 19, 2010  05:49 PM ET

true... JJ and Papa John's pizza will be for sale at $12 a slice. and if you can keep it down after watching daboys lose, you're the man! seriously, we need new coaches - that could make a huge difference. and i too felt this yr wasn't going to be real successful after our preseason struggles. but, i tend to get negative too early and wanted to try and remain positive. 0-2 is not the end of the world.... there is still hope... isn't there????

September 19, 2010  05:54 PM ET

Today's game demonstrated a lack of passion on the part of the Cowboys. They haven't shown any determination or urgency. The coaching staff doesn't seen to care about lack luster play. The players don't appear to be earning their bloated paychecks. This team may be a .500 team this year and the blame squarely sits on the owner's/coaches' shoulders.

Maybe the "talent" is not as talented as we think? There are some bright spots (Austin, Ware, yes Romo (physically gifted), Spencer ) but across the board they have some middle level players who are a liability. I guess lots of teams have that but Dallas can't seem to overcome their weakness.

Well, the Redskins got beat by Houston in OT. But, all 3 teams in the division are ahead of the 'Boys. It's possible that they can climb out of it, but it'll be tough. The schedule is pretty tough too. There's still hope, yes, but if you're anything like me, expect the worse, and you won't be surprised........lol

I take what they will give me, and if they don't want to win, I can do nothing about it except get high blood pressure, or stay PO'd all of the time. I will watch them as I've always done, but they're wasting time. They had their chance with the 13-3 season, and let it slip away.

I agree with you there. Wholeheartedly.

I think this team blew their wad in the 13-3 season, and lost their chance to do something. All of this talk about home field in the SB and other publicity crap is just that......crap. Expectations are higher than they should be, when this team not as good as people expect.

I think we need a new OC, and maybe even a HC. Especially the OC.

It will be interesting to see what Jerry does if the slid continues.. I could see Wade getting the axe if it does and the kicker as well if he keeps missing.

if this slide continues.... say .500 at thanksgiving, i'd think JJ will make coaching changes. as far as my mood after these loses, i used to feel pissed all evening. but, once you just accept that dallas is a very average team, the loses don't seem to bother me as much LOL.

That kicker will likely remain, if for no other reason than for his kick offs. They should have a kicking coach, as they once had, but Parcells decided he wasn't necessary.

If they're .500 at Thanksgiving they will have to be playing better to get there. They're already 0-2 and look to be 0-3 after next week in Houston. Can you see a 3 game winning streak any time soon?

Jason Garrett has to be let go, not later, but now. He is arrogant and thinks he doesn't have to answer to the Head Coach, (T.O. syndrome?) I have yet to see him utilize the talent he has in front of him and make his side of the ball look dominant. The defense at times does, but an offensive coordinator has to manage the game and realize more than just take the ball down the field, learn how long your defense has been on the field, work with the other coordinators, figure out what really wins games Jason!!!! Look how Gregg Davis and Will Muschamp work under Mack Brown, they let each other know what they need, not only in time on the bench for their respective units, but situations that can be adventitious for the units if given the correct situation. I see nothing but arrogance and selfishness on Garrett's part and he is a disease in the team that must be cut out immediately. Would be different if he could ever step up and just admit it is his fault and he needs to handle situations and the game better, he never will. Good bye Jason, don't let the door hit you in the but and knock that smirk off your face to quick. Go back to Princeton and study another trade, you have failed at this, or move to a lesser role and let Wade be the coach.

September 19, 2010  11:54 PM ET

After the first 8 games of Jason's career as offensive coordinator in the NFL look at the results since, Defensive schemes have shut him and the team down for 3 years now. What has he done? The only time we score points in numbers in when Wade's defense sets us up for easy scores and makes the offense seem ok. We don't go on sustained drives and score touchdowns, we are getting out coached. Look at the stats, they don't lie. We don't string touchdowns together just on offense, point out a 4 touchdown true drive game in the last 3 years. Can't find it.

September 20, 2010  12:03 AM ET

I quit taking the losses so painful a long time ago, in the 80's. I had reason to then, we were outmanned but through the genius of Landry we always had a chance. This is the exact opposite, We have the talent to take it to the next level and it just isn't happening. Everybody needs to quit looking at Wade and his defense, it sits squarely on Garrett's shoulders. This offense will score 25-30 points a game if Ernie Zampese would come call the plays and let him go. Too many weapons, and yes, we are that talented, just ask the other NFL team players and ask them which team is most talented. It is Dallas.

September 20, 2010  12:47 AM ET

Jason Garrett has lost his creativity, but is it his fault? I watched as many preseason games as possible to guage theirv improvement, but what I saw worried me. Tony Romo had a big problem throwing high to receivers. Many of us may think Roy Williams is a bust, and I am one. but how do you throw high to him? Romo has been throwing to him for over 2 years now, and he still has got their timing down. Romo is a "good" quarterback", just not good enough for the big one.

As for Wade Phillips, his meter has expired. He may be a player's coach, but he's not a motivator. Jerry, please get on your hands and knees and get Parcell's or Jimmy back.

September 20, 2010  05:35 AM ET

I wouldn't give up hope yet if you're a Cowboys fan. Jahvid Best put up only 20 yards against the Bears last week, then this week he puts up 40 FFP ! The Bears front 7 is maybe the best in the NFC if not the NFL. The same can't be said for our secondary as Romo's 374 yards attests. A couple of dropped passes from Austin and Witten being kept out at the end didn't help your chances, nor did the missed FG. The Bears are better than people think, and if the OL & the secondary gets in sync on O & D, they're a super bowl team, and I'm no homer. The Dallas LBs brought the heat last night and Demarcus Ware is awesome, you will crush teams this year, like the Giants and Eagles in your division. All is not lost, you just ran into a good team that's getting better.

September 20, 2010  05:36 AM ET

And your running backs are great, they'll kill weaker front sevens this year, worry not.

September 20, 2010  09:32 AM ET

There is blame to go around for where they are right now...

Wade, and Garrett ultimately are responsible for what happens on the field and their heads will roll at seasons end for sure if Dallas does not make the playoffs...

Scary part too...these were 2 wins that Dallas SHOULD have won...now they have hard games coming....sickening that Dallas might be looking at 8-8 or 9-7 if they dont get it together.

The stupid and silly mistakes are costing them big time.

And do not even get me started on the friggin kicking game!!!!

the way they are playing right now i'd say that is a very optimistic view

They need a coaching staff that can manage the interferences caused by the owner. If Jimmy would have stayed, Dallas would have run out of fingers for all of their rings. Jerry has passion to win, but he has to balance his will to make $$$$$ with "star" athletes and investigate want a true team concept is. The coach needs to have all the reigns when it comes to team relationships. It is evident that the Boys are extremely undisciplined in view of their recent performances. The coaching staff needs the power to reign this team in. They need a "come to Jesus meeting" to get things back on track. Jerry needs to support his coaches or find someone else who has as much passion that he has and is not afraid to voice his displeasure with the team if things don't go well.
