YANKEE FAN GROUP  > Yanks Fans Message Board  > Is C.C. Sabbathia essential to the Yankees' future success?

In my opinion, we are backed into a desperate
situation with our rotation so... Yes we need the big guy!

Also, the price can not be an issue because the team is
set on signing two big free agents no matter what...so
why should we settle on wasting Big Buck$ on two ordinary
pitchers like Lowe or Burnett?

Furthermore, I don't consider C.C.'s perference to play on
the West Coast a reason to be wary of opening up the vault
to sign him. Remember fellow Pinstripe Pals, he has never
stated a hatred for the Bronx and probably just needs some
extra courting to convince him to open up the new Stadium.

Yes, I know what your thinking... "the nerve!! Why should
we, the mighty Yankees, need to do anything more than
announce our presence to convince anyone to come her"!

Well, the fact of the matter is we are no longer the premiere
franchise and its no longer enough to simply call up a free
agent and say we want you. Those days are for the moment...
gone!

Folks, things can get far worse if we don't act quick enough
to sign him up and I really don't want to relieve the mistake
of last offseason. I knew all long what a mistake we were
heading into last off-season when letting Santana go the
Mets. This may not be as obvious as Johan but its the
closest thing we will get towards a legitmate ace.

Well, I said my peace- I may not love his resume and
he may not love our coast- but I know this relationship
must end with us slipping on the Extra-Large Yankee jersey
in a press conference hosted by Mr. See Ya and crew ;-)

What are your thoughts, Pinstripe Pals ?
