NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > CFB Game Day 10/02/2010
September 27, 2010, 10:41 AM
This thread is dedicated to the college football games played on Oct. 2, 2010. Please, feel free to post your observations. I ask that you keep it to college football, humor, and the like. Roots, raves, rants, and the usual expressions of fans caught up in the action are welcome.

It's October by the CFB calendar, and games played on the second are going to determine much for the rest of the season. So, this board is up on the Monday before.

Some big games this weekend that I am very interested in, but expect Bama to handle Florida and Okla to handle Texas. The game that is most intriguing is the Oregon-Stanford game. I hope it is on tv in my area. I am thinking Stanford is probably the better team, but playing at Oregon, I think I would pick Oregon to win the game. Should be a great game. And I am hoping for the Gators to surprise me, but not holding my breath.

I think I read that ESPN will carry it on ABC as the prime time night game. Be sure to locate the mute button on your remote before Brent Mussberger begins speaking.

The Wisky MSU game will be better than some think. I like Michigan State this year, and they dont play Ohio State...my sleeper in the big ten

Outside of the big three, the Miami Clemson game might be the one I think is both reasonably important and entertaining.

Sometimes I think Herbie wants to punch him for some of the stuff he says..then again sometimes I feel like punching Herbie for being so anti-homer is sickening...

The TAMU game is before Saturday so it will be easy to catch that one. Have not heard much about either team so far this year.

September 27, 2010  04:53 PM ET

TAMU has feasted on Stephen F Austin, LA Tech, and FIU.

The game is at Stillwater and Okie St has shown a pretty dynamic offense.

Im thinking Okie St puts up big numbers.

UGa vs. Colorado? Battle of the Hotseat Coaches is the only point of interest there.

Richt will have his prodigal WR back, and will be moving the Dawgs in the right direction for this one. Dawgs 35-10.

Herb gets points for his restraint in not kicking Musburger under the announcer's desk every time he makes a bonehead statement. And does he HAVE to keep calling him Herbie? Yeesh.

So for the Big Ten Blog, this makes sense as the NB3.

TAMU vs OKState

If Texas and OU continue with their sketchy play, Okie lite may be in position for a run at the Big 12 title. They have looked pretty good so far this year.

And Kendall Hunter might be the best RB in the country not named Ingram.
