Do the Raiders Keep Cable as head coach next season or does Davis sign another younger head coach?
December 3, 2008  03:23 PM ET

I like Cable as the Head Coach.
Even though they haven't won every game since he was hired on he seems to be having them on the right track. The players seem to be respecting him and has a strong will to win and that is all US Raider fans want is to win again!!

December 3, 2008  03:35 PM ET

There's not much to it so let's redoit. Look to the draft; O & D linemen, fast, good route running reciever (at least 1), nasty, hard nosed middle linebacker (Ohio State??) . New coach, why not Cowher?? How about McNabb guiding Russel at QB??
The current staff is soooooooo disappointing all I can reccomend is .....a loooong drop from the Golden Gate, hey Cable might think this is the best FUN of the season!!!

December 3, 2008  04:00 PM ET

LOL not a chance in hell Cowher would come to work for Al Davis, or any other major prospect in his right mind.

December 4, 2008  10:08 AM ET

I don't like the fact that Fargas is getting most of the touches rather than Bush and MFD. The other two are far more talented, so I call Cable's ability to judge talent into question. He is best served as an OL coach.

December 4, 2008  02:54 PM ET

I think they sign Lane Kiffin's son.

December 4, 2008  06:00 PM ET

I don't think he will be back. I think they will hire someone younger. Or if they want to make a bold move. They could if fired bring in Romeo Crennal or bring back Dennis Green.

December 5, 2008  04:53 PM ET

Remember like the Raiders pile up penalites in 1960 there will be no Cable next year.
Crennal and Green aint fools to work for Al Davis.
Could they bring back Art Shell? Hahahaaaaaa!!!!
That say thats a joke son, thats a joke!

December 5, 2008  11:08 PM ET

Why doesn't Davis just hire himself, then half way through the season he can fire himself and relief himself of all responsibilities to the team

December 7, 2008  10:52 PM ET

Things the Raiders NEED to do to improve:
-Hire a GM that has the ability to persuade Al Davis
-Keep Nnamdi Asomugha happy/if not trade for multiple draft picks
-Get rid of Kwame Harris
-Give Darren McFadden more snaps
-Face the fact that JaMarcus Russell just isn???t a good NFL QB
-Finally get Andrew Walters and Tuisasopo (or however you spell it) completely off the roster
-Consider Michael Vick at QB (Darren Mcfadden+Vick=Wildcat mania)
-Consider Matt Cassel (If available)
-Draft Crabtree as wide receiver
-Continue to focus on Zach Miller???s ability
-Work on Offensive line
-Get a new Head Coach with amazing offensive schemes
-Get a new fullback so we can convert Michael Bush back to running back
-Make everybody compete for their positions (like Lane Kiffin did)

December 8, 2008  02:35 PM ET

i agree, i time to get rid of JaMarcus Russell and possibly consider Michael Vicks, atleast we know he can throw.
And get rid of this head coach and get us someone that actually knows what he is doing

never should have traded Jon Gruden to the Bucs i tell ya...

December 9, 2008  12:50 PM ET

I'm a true Raider fan and Al Davis, is just **** me off. If they don???t lock up Nnamdi they are going to loose him like Charles Woodson. Why should he dedicated and loyal when the organization isn???t. Al is just giving money away to unproven little talent players. Hell, if I could run the 40 in 3.9 seconds Al will make me a instant millionaire at 43years old and not even worry about any talent. Some of the issues Lane had mentioned are coming to light. The way Al is running this team nobody is going to want to come here and play or stay, back in the day everybody wanted to play for the Raiders. This team is just a joke and they make me sick just watching play. They be jumping around and chest bumping while they???re getting their **** handed to them and don???t forget about the knuckle head penalties. I can???t see it and it seems like they???re playing just to cash Al Davis checks. I???ll cut dam near the whole team if they don???t want to play and start from there.

I think the Raiders should heavily persue Mike Singletary to take over at head coach before the 49ers lock him up. San Fran has a HORRIBLE team and he still managed to win 3 out of their last 4

December 9, 2008  10:00 PM ET

I think the Raiders should seriously consider trying to nab Mike Singletary before the 49ers sign him up, any head coach that can create 3 out of the last 4 wins with San Fran has some serious talent. I also seriously believe that the Raiders need to get in touch with their roots of old. Back in the 70's their defense was feared by all teams in the NFL. If we were to cut most of the defense and focus on hard hitting personel it gives the offence something to think about the next time they run that ball or try and make a catch wondering how hard the defender is going to nail them. Fear was the name of the game and brought the Raiders to the promise land on more than one account.

Singletary would an awesome coach in Silver Black, but he is NOT a yes man. Kiffin wasnt look what happened to him. Gruden got to popular and became the face of the team and Davis despised that and sent him packing. The Raiders were set up to win for quite sometime with Chuckie in charge, but he got the last laugh in the SB.

Fargas should get most of the touches he is the work horse for that team. He runs between the tackles better than any back that they have. In saying that I dont think Cable should want to keep that job and who in there right mind would want to come there after watching the BS that goes on with that organization. Maybe they can get Ty Willingham because he thinks he save any team.

That'a a hard one to judge (between the tackles) considering Fargas is the only one getting the carries. Bush is bigger, faster, has better moves, is a better receiver and at least equal in pass blocking. I'd rather see him carrying if not McFadden.

I do agree with you on Bush & McFadden, further put them both in together. Look at the Titans, Panthers, & Giants, it's a 2 back leauge now. These 2 have similar talents & potential to be the best all around duo. All is lost though , the "cable guy" won't shift his linemen & doesn't like Bush.

That was my fear: Bush in the dog house and not getting much action via Cable. I can just see him walking in a few years and going on to become a star with some other team. The psycho days at Raider central need to change.
I also can't see Namdi wanting to sign long term with them the way it is now. Their only chance to keep him may be another franchise tag.
Sad!!
