Dez Bryant is okay, nothing special.
Hes just a rookie who is still learning the pro game. Like I said first year rookies usually don't look like stars their first year like Moss and Rice did. Those guys were freaks.
I've watched this sport for a while and he has some amazing body control; an ability to go up with his hand VERY quickly from a full sprint and maintain control. It's not tangible but he seems to have a knack to get balls that seem beyond his reach....this one could be special

He has all season to prove it.
Yea we will see. Crabtree is struggling a bit this year after a decent rookie year of 600 yards without a camp. So we might not know for a while what Dez is. I am thinking his first 100 yard game is coming very soon.

Ok? Nothing special? LOL ....
He is a rookie WR who is the 3rd or 4th option behind Miles Austin, Jason Witten and arguably Roy Williams...
In 3 games he has 1 TD catch, 2 others nullified and 1 punt return for a TD...plus he is on target for about 800yds receiving...
That is rookie of the year honors.
It is a big reason why Roy Williams has stepped up his game...
By next season, he is the #2 WR in Dallas...and that my friends is scary considering he is a Miles Austin clone in size and speed...but, he has the ability to make the circus catch that can not be coached.
Dez is more than ok.

Yea I know this year is kinda frightening because we have a suspect offensive line but with Romo 30. Austin 25 and Dez 21 we have a hell of a future at offense. Has our line gotten old and the window has closed we'll see what happens this year? The line played very well vs Houston but their defense isn't very good. We may need to get two or three young o linemen. We also have two very young rbs in Jones and Choice. Our defense is relatively young. Our future is very bright.

Perception is strange...
Did you know that Dallas is #1 in the NFL in sacks NOT allowed? Dallas has given up only 1 sack all season long?
And they have thrown the ball more per game than almost every team out there...
They also rank #11 in hits allowed.
Free is 26, Kosier is 31, Gurode is 31, Davis is 32 and Colombo is 31 so it looks like we will have this unit for years, allowing us to bring along the younger guys on the team...kind of like we did with Free playing behind Flozell and Columbo the last 3 seasons.
Dallas is in good shape across the board age wise and has shown time and time again the last few seasons that by letting age and distractions go, they get better.
IE, TO...Roy Williams the saftey, Greg Ellis, Tank, PacMan, Ken Hamlin, Anthony Henry, Flozell Adams, Patrick Crayton, Jason Ferguson, etc....

Once players are like 32 they start to show it. Fans complain about Garretts play calling but no play ain't gonna work if the line doesn't block? lol Didn't the Cowboys set a team record for total offensive yards last year? Our line isn't consistant and only Romo and his scrambling make it pretty average at pass blocking. However Free is a good rebuilding start but we disagree on the quality of our linemen.

Wow only one sack allowed? But Romo had been harrassed alot in the first two games. Romo is not a good runner but he has quick feet to step out of a pass rush.

1 sack and 14 hits...
The 1 sack makes Dallas #1 in the NFL and the 14 hits makes us 11th....
That is good for a line that had 2 starters out in game 1, got them back in game 2 and were completely 100% healthy by game 3...and it showed...Dallas ran more in game 3 and that helped the scoreboard.
Dallas has a very good line and lets talk about Doug Free....everyone was worried about him and the Cowboys coaching staff has graded him so far this season as the best lineman we have...
Not shabby....and do not forget that Gurode and Davis are ProBowlers...
We are just fine on the line....they just needed to get healthy and some reps....

I can't help but wonder how many needy people could be given food and shelter for $55,000. How many textbooks would that buy? How many mosquito nets to keep people safe from disease?
JackStrawII,
lots of folks but don't forget that of that 55K, it went into a Dallas Business, waiters, staff, barmen all took tips home, the owner padded his bottom-line, he will need linens and tablecloths cleaned and delivered, fresh food and produce will be brought in and paid for, it goes on and on.....in one sense the restaurant won a play-off game that night. Sure Dez and some other rookies all got their wallets lightened but also families and workers in the Dallas area were on the plus side of the $55K.
Ridiculous dinner expense? Absolutely but at least it wasn't in a "teedee" bar (censors) or buying anything illegal. Suspect Michale Irvin and his friends would put that down easy in the "white house" in the 90s.

The first thought that came into my mind was why didn't the idiot just carry the pads to begin with??
55k for not carrying pads is flat out ****.

Straw, don't want to fight but where was that white house? Did the police go to it? What evidence was there? Not saying some Cowboys didn't do drugs because they did but the white house thing sounds a little like bs stuff. Think if there was a white house we'd have seen it on television news? lol Yea Mike did drugs but the "whitehouse"? Still waiting for the rape charge on Irvin to be of some truth? lol The media ran with a bogus story from some prostitute. Why not a bs white house story? By the way heavy drug use results in drug addiction? Irvin been in rehab? So Irvim wasn't quite the big drug junkie everyone said he was? He used yea but apparently not very much.
What I like best about Bryant is he isn't complaining about a low ball contract and holding out . He is not complaining about the BS from Miami and the media circus. Instead he showed up to work on time and said let me prove what I can do. He is gambling on himself and I like those odds. Everything will be OK for this kid.

there was a show on ESPN a few months back...I think it was one of those "30 for 30" shows...
the existence of this house was acknowledged by a number of people associated with the Dallas team...I can't remember off the top of my head who it was, but if you get a chance to see the show, you will be left with no doubt that this place existed while Jerry Jones and other Cowboy higher ups looked the other way
