BAYAMON, Puerto Rico - Defenders John Krause and Cristian Arrieta scored a goal each and Puerto Rico defeated Saint-Martin 4-1 Monday night to move the brink of advancing to the second round of the Digicel Caribbean Cup.

Krause gave Puerto Rico the lead in the 25th minute and Arrieta added the insurance in the 79th, moving atop the Group A standings with six points after two matches.

Earlier Monday, the Cayman Islands scored three goals in a 10-minute span and defeated Anguilla 4-1 to remain two points behind Puerto Rico, setting up a Wednesday showdown for the lone guaranteed second-round berth from Group A.

Nicholas Ebanks scored in first-half injury time and then added a second in the 48th that was followed by goal s by Theron Wood and Paul Brown. The four unanswered goals came after Javille Brooks put Anguilla ahead in the 33rd minute.

Puerto Rico coach Colin Clarke, who also is the coach of the Puerto Rico Islanders in the USSF D2 league, has used nine former or current members of his club side in the two games so far, including a 3-1 victory over Anguilla on Saturday. Puerto Rico only needs a draw on Wednesday to secure its advancement.

"Like all our matches, we have to go out and attack," Clarke said. "We are aware Cayman are a good side and they showed that tonight by scoring four goals, but we have to concentrate on our abilities and I am confident we can get a positive result."
