One of the main problem people have with playoff in College FB is it takes too long, not enough teams get included... etc, etc.. And then we have all these bowl sponsers. Well, what if we try to accomodate them all?

National Championship Tournament ( 8 teams, 6 BCS Conf champions + 2 wildcards)
Biggests Bowls (Fiesta, RoseBowl, etc would rotate)

While teams above would settle the national champion with only 2 teams playing 3 games, remaining teams that did not make it to the championship tourney would be placed into Regional Champ Tourneys, which would consist of 8 teams from different conferences (Both BCS and non BCS) Perhaps regionally, perhaps not. So there would be 4 regional tourneys of 8 teams each. Those that win the tourney would be crowned regional champs.

Beauty of this system is that total of 40 teams would get to participate and there should be enough games to ensure that none of the current bowl sponsors would get left out. One thing we know is that with current system, even the crappy bowls still get descent ratings. So, even though regionals tourneys would not crown the national champions, it would still draw descent TV ratings and crowds. It is a win-win for everyone involved. And we'll finally get to crown true national champions to boot! All the while, ensuring that no one plays more than 16 games (13 reg games + 3 playoff games)
