NEW YORK -- CONCACAF announced the allocation of berths for its 2012 Olympic qualifying tournament and the 2011 Pan American Games on Wednesday.

Unchanged from 2008, the men's Olympic qualifying event - to be staged at a venue yet to be chosen - will feature eight teams, including Canada, Mexico and the United States, two qualifiers from the Caribbean and three from Central America.

In Women's qualifying, host Canada, Mexico and the United States will qualify automatically. They will be joined by three teams from the Caribbean and two from Central America.

CONCACAF will send men's four teams to the 2011 Pan American Games to be held in Guadalajara, Mexico, October 13-30. In addition to Mexico, one team each from Central America and the Caribbean - the highest finisher from each at the 2011 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship -- will qualify. The final berth will be awarded to the next-best Central American or Caribbean finisher at the U-20s. The U-20 Championship will be held in Guatemala from April 3-17, 2011.

In the Pan Am Games women's tournament, Mexico will be joined by Canada and one team each from the Caribbean and from Central America at the upcoming Women's World Cup Qualifying tournament. Women's World Cup Qualifying will take place in Cancun, Mexico, October 28-November 8.
