Computers like Oklahoma, LSU, Missouri and Sparty.

Boise and TCU are both around 5 or 6 in the computers, just like last season.

1-6 is a little sticky, really they can all go anywhere. But I think they got it right this time. For now.

Well, the first certain change near the top will come this week: Auburn and LSU play one another. Oklahoma could run the table all the way to the Big 12 Title Game.

October 17, 2010  09:49 PM ET

I guess the human polls are what kept OK State and MO so low. Maybe there really are consequences when teams play mostly nobody (MO) and absolutely nobody (OKSt) out of conference.

If you believe the computers, OU's opponent this week (Missouri) is the #6 team in the country.

Yea....I'm finding it hard to disagree with what they got going on.....

OU could, but the way they have played this season either Missouri, Baylor, or Okie Light will trip them up before the B12 CC game.

BTW, of all the teams in the top 25 the one real head-scratcher is KSU.

And yet, some teams get into the Top 5 for playing absolutely nobody IN conference. Go figure.

The first BCS of the year has been released and there are some surprises.

First is how Oklahoma is #1 with only two wins against Top 20 teams and two games left on their schedule against top 15 teams.

Thx for giving us more run. As we mentioned, initial thoughts. Once we have gone through everything, we'll have a new post tomorrow morning. Thx! BTW, where on the coast are you? I used to live in Biloxi and worked for a few radio stations there back from 99-01.

You're holding them to a higher standard than AP voters and Harris pollsters.

October 17, 2010  11:43 PM ET

Is that a bad thing? If they truly are the #1 team, which I'm not doubting just surprised, shouldn't they be?

LSU is the other one.

Sure, they're 7-0 but are the voters paying attention to the opp's?

- They beat a UNC team (minus 13 starters) due to a questionable last play.
- squeaked by a terrible Tenn team on shear luck
- squeaked by a bad Florida team
- trailed McNeese St at the half

Their other wins are vs Vandy, Mississippi St, and WVU.

If LSU had a tougher schedule, they could be a 3 or 4 loss team.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they would be a 3 or 4 loss team, but I agree that LSU hasn't exactly taken CFB by storm this season either.

Since the computers can't take margin of victory into account, LSU's eyelash win over UTk counts the same as Oregon's demolition of the Vols.

Bottom line is they have an excellent defense that will keep them in every game this year. It's on the road, but I think they beat Auburn this weekend.

You should not be that hard on the ACC teams....

You got 2 of 3 possibly right.
