NEW YORK -- Only Monterrey is assured of winning its group in the CONCACAF Champions League and only three teams already are eliminated

As the Group Stage reaches its final round, the rest of the quarterfinal berths will be decided this week and almost countless scenarios figure into who goes through, and who doesn't.

Winning the group assures teams of not having to face another group winner and hosting the second leg in the knockout round.

The tournament regulations establish the criteria for who qualifies, which can be calculated as follows:

Group A

Cruz Azul and Real Salt Lake already have qualified for the Championship Round. They are tied with 10 points and play each other in Sandy, Utah on Tuesday.

Cruz Azul wins the group with a win or draw. Real Salt Lake must win to claim the group title.

Group B

Santos leads with 10 points, one more than Columbus and two more than Municipal. Santos hosts Municipal on Tuesday, while Columbus travels to Trinidad to play already eliminated Joe Public on Thursday.

Santos will win the group with a victory over Municipal OR, it draws with Municipal and Columbus draws or loses to Joe Public.

It will finish second if it draws with Municipal and Columbus defeats Joe Public. Santos can still advance with a loss to Municipal so long as Columbus draws or loses to Joe Public and Santos doesn't lose to Municipal by five goals or more.

Columbus will win the group if defeats Joe Public AND Santos draws or loses to Municipal.

It would finish second if it and Santos both win. It would also finish second if Santos defeats or draws with Municipal, OR the Crew draws with Joe Public and Municipal defeats Santos by five goals or more.

For Municipal to win the group, it must defeat Santos while Columbus draws with or loses to Joe Public. Municipal can still advance with a second-place finish by beating Santos while Columbus beats Joe Public.

Group C

With 13 points, Monterrey is assured of winning the group. Saprissa is second with seven points, one more than Marathon. Saprissa plays at already eliminated Seatttle on Tuesday, a day before Marathon hosts Monterrey

Saprissa will clinch a quarterfinal berth with a victory over Seattle, OR a draw with Seattle and Marathon fails to beat Monterrey, OR it can still advance with a loss, so long as Marathon does not beat Monterrey.

For Marathon to advance, it needs to beat Monterrey AND have Seattle beat or draw with Saprissa.

Group D

Olimpia leads with 10 points, two ahead of the Puerto Rico Islanders and three in front of Toluca. Olimpia is at home against the Puerto Rico Islanders on Wednesday while Toluca is home against already eliminated FAS earlier in the evening.

Olimpia will win the group with a win or draw against Puerto Rico. It would still advance as the second-place team with a loss, so long as FAS defeats or draws with Toluca.

Puerto Rico would win the group with a victory over Olimpia, or could finish second with a draw - as long as Toluca fails to beat FAS.

Toluca cannot win the group, but would finish second with a victory over FAS. It could also advance with a draw, and a win by Olimpia over Puerto Rico.
