NFL  > Dallas Cowboys  > Wade Philips says the Cowboys are the Best 1-4 Team in the League Right Now
October 20, 2010, 10:12 AM
I can believe that.

Because they're the only 1-4 team right now.

Even if you take it that he meant they're the best 1 win team in the league that's still a dumb thing to say. What he'd be saying then is that out of Cleveland, San Fran and Dallas the Cowboys are the best.

DAMN, I just spit coffee all over my monitor. 8~)

October 20, 2010  10:48 AM ET

Whoo Hoo!! We're the best with the worst!!! Hot Damn!!!!!

October 20, 2010  12:00 PM ET

OMG, I knew this would come out....WTF!? How about he says "we suck and we are going to continue to suck until I (wade) and the rest of my idiots get our collective feces consolidated into one bit of hosiery and eliminate the penalties and win a few games!!"

Arrrghhhhh--accountability you toad!

October 20, 2010  12:07 PM ET

That's the most asinine statement I've ever seen or heard.

October 20, 2010  12:09 PM ET

The Lions were the best 0-16 team at one time, too. Who are you comparing, Wade?

October 20, 2010  12:12 PM ET

bet they will be the best 5-11 team this yr too LOL!

October 20, 2010  12:13 PM ET

Lots of positive words about the Cowboys from John Gruden this morning on Mike & Mike but those are just words; facts are 1-4.

Gruden talked of unlucky breaks--last play of 1st half Redskins, end of Titans game, KO return for TD beginning 3rd qtr at Minni but hey you make your own luck by taking a knee with 10 seconds to go, lane coverage on Kick offs, stress fundamentals....Gruden is just being nice and maintaining interest in the MNF game (shouldn't need to with Cowboys/Giants line up) just his job.

At least it is true. I am totally surprised that Bum's son has not been whacked.

Hey don't be a corn-holie-o!! They're gonna be a solid 6-10!

<laughing>

October 20, 2010  12:22 PM ET

LOL.... 6-10 sounds great! heck, who knows this team could actually turn things around. it starts against the giants. but the schedule only gets tougher from here so it's hard to imagine them doing much better than .500 i'm trying to be somewhat positive, but it gets harder each week.

October 20, 2010  12:25 PM ET

DallasFan77,
I will not even begin to think beyond week to week; one at a time. They are too self-destructive. I hope someone can come back and throw my 6-10 post in my face in December and tell me what a tool I am, would gladly eat that crow. Not looking for a fork right now though. Let's see what happens Monday night.

Cheers

wade's days are numbered ......77-days + 1 [to clean-out his office] !

Oh I'd start taking a few things home at a time, you know just a couple things under your arm everyday makes it easier IMHO.

Then, we'd be left with Garrett. Not much better, if any. Jerrah usually waits til the end of the season, and my guess is that he's a sadist to the fans.

He can compare this 5-11 to the previous 3 other 5-11's he had with Campo.......lol

He probably already is, with the whipped puppy dog look of his.

I'd bet he never had any personal stuff there. I like Wade and all, but this HC job, or any for that matter, is way beyond his capabilities.

Really?

How about....

"Where would this country be without this great land of ours?" - Ronald Reagan.

Or..

When President Obama referred to corpsman as "Corpse-men".

Or...

When John Madden, calling the preseason Green Bay vs. Bengals game of 2006 said, "That's the problem with the Bengals....to many Johnsons".

Actually, yeah I still find Wade's comments more asinine.

This guy is supposed to be HC of Dallas!
