Seriously? Don't forget to take your ball with you when you leave.

October 20, 2010  01:17 PM ET

Honestly what's wrong with a good form tackle like we were taught as kids learning the game, it's still a BIG HIT. No, now everyone wants to be on the NFL highlight reel for bringing the hammer and the league has itself to blame for their marketing strategy.

I'm just tired of seeing these high paid athletes b.tch about everything. Unfortunately, I was not able to see the Steelers game this past weekend so I can't comment on the hit that he got fined for.

Probably did because they were likely publishing misinformation. If there was any truth to it, then why remove it?

Bull, I used the search box to the right on that page, and it pulled up the "story." More like an opinion piece after the initial information.

yep, it was a clean hit ...NFL is lying, trying to extort money & defaming a public figures character ... .....wonder why they don't fine Colt McCoy for throwing the pass? ...or how about fining the Browns WR for bobbling the ball instead of protecting himself from the defender FIRMLY IN PLACE in his position.... in basketball, the Browns WR would've been called for CHARGING ...lol

Do you actually read what you post, YOu are a moron, and if you think I am wrong here is an article I found interesting, and points out what I said,

They are now selling pictures of the hit,. So where is it again they are not trying to make more money off this besides the fine. Jcc1 Please write me a novel and explain this.

Why play a game where you are called for taking cheapshots and fined for a clean hit,. His hit on Cribbs was a legal hit,. Sorry but it was. I actully watched the game.

Just calling it "Clean/Legal" still doesn't make it ok to "hurt" someone who has no thret of scoring on that play. We all saw Criibs stopped by a defender holding his ankle and another defender in front of him to make a tackle. Harrison could have just put his arms around him but but choose the "highlight" hit ... To me when I watch games, when a running back is clearly covered by 2 defenders and on the motion of going down, it pisses me off when a 3rd guy comes in for a kill shot that really was not nessessary at all... EVERYONE one does it, I'm not singling out just Harrison. It happens with every team, It's either to send a message, Hurt the guy, or make ESPN hightlight of the night or "JACKED UP!! We fans could be part of the blame also because just like watching gladiators we crave for that kill shot .. I'm not against hitting but there are times you have to respect your fellow players, This could have been one of those times.

So yeah it was clean and Legal but was it nessessary...nope!

Nice to see you are still with us Sam ,

My gripe is the media calling it a cheap shot and it clearly was not. And Harrison is the only one they are griping about. I agree with alot of what you said, but Harrison is being singled out , and he was not the only one guilty of bad hits. There was others alot worse and alot more obvious that it was a cheap shot, but he is the only one getting called out for it. Note I am not mentioning the other players.

I don't think the hit on Cribbs is the one in question it was the Massaquoi hit that drawing all the attention.

Another link if it isn't already here.

James Harrison says he might retire

October 20, 2010  03:23 PM ET

if he retires it will cost him $9 Million (he would owe back money from his $10 million signing bonus he signed last year)

then I guess what he can do is sulk around like so many players currently do? ....instead, Harrison is giving 200% every down, every practice, & for this now he's having stones cast his way & being punished...wonder why america going down eh? I don't like the steelers, but I admire Harrisons LUST for the game

i don't think America's going down because Harrison doesn't feel like playing football

October 20, 2010  03:35 PM ET

He would have to pay back 9 million of his signing bonus....
