MMA  > General MMA  > The Biggest Disappointment.

Think of all the MMA fighters that have walked into a ring or cage and which one was the biggest disappointment? Not the most over-hyped (Bisping), or some no name that got lucky once but then didn't perform (I'm thinking Serra), or some fighter looking for a pay-day (think Toney). But a guy that has (or had) all the tools and all the talent, but just couldn't put it together.

I like Kang here.

Belfort never performed to his full potential.

I always thought Kevin Randleman could've been dominant if he could've got his stuff together.

Same thing with sokoudjou
Great stuff sometimes awesome first round then a different fighter walked out for round two

Vitor Belfort.

Up to this point has always lost the important fights of his career.

Great pick.

Judo Black Belt, great athleticism, trains wrestling with Team Quest...

Oh, and Roger Huerta is getting into "big disappointment" territory too

Sokodjou, Vitor, and Kang are the ones that come to my mind.

Sokodjou is just disappointing in that his cardio is always awful.

Vitor always breaks down as soon as his gameplan doesn't work perfectly.

Kang is the same way, he is just so sad to watch him break down in each and every fight.

I remembered another guy.

Travis Wiuff

Great athleticism, raw power and wrestling ability.

No cardio though.

Wiuff is 62 and 14 with wins over guys like Jeff Monson, Jardine, Fujita and Ricco Rodriguez.

I think he isn't too big a disappointment.

Yes, his record is impressive, but the guys you mentioned aren't people I'd run home and tell mom about. A bunch of gatekeepers in my opinion...
But his record is something else...
