I would assume that the fan bases of the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings are different which is why both franchises have existed so long in such proximity. However, from a distance theory, they are so relatively close to one another, couldn't the Bay area cheer for ONE of those teams. Being from CLE I know what it's like to lose a franchise so I'm not saying that one of these teams SHOULD be eliminated but maybe there would be less animosity towards a move like that.
Not sure how to answer that but I think if Las Vegas could support a team that it would be a good move for the league.
Candidly, it looks as though the league is going to contract in the next season....
Watching how those players get merged into new teams is REALLY interesting.

Which gave me a twisted thought. What if Miami was contracted with the Cavs to Cleveland and Gilbert threw LeElbow out?

Sacramento to San Francisco is about a two hour drive. I don't think fans would be stoked about not only losing their team but also having to drive that far to watch a game. L.A. on the other hand has 2 teams and one of them is awful, the other I'd like to see gone for other reasons. The Knicks and the Nets are pretty close as well. I personally just want to see the Sonics come back. As a Portland fan, I miss that rivalry.
Toronto does not need the NBA AND THE NBA does not need Toronto.

Nets - Gone, Clippers - Gone, Warriors - gone, Raptors - gone There are a lot of good arguments for keeping this one and getting rid of that one(all fan biased). When it comes to NY, both teams are bad, but,The Knicks would stay, it would be like deciding between the Yankees or the Mets... Clippers - Poor owner, bad coaching no players, the only time the Clippers sell out is when they are playing the Lakers. Warriors have never had anything (Wilt's gone, Let it go) and never will. Raptors we all know US sports do not work in Canada. There is also no sense in moving any team to Vegas. The league already has to deal with image problems and there are far too many temptations for players as it is. Adding the road trip to Vegas is asking for trouble.
I think the Kings and/or the Hornets would be the best candidates. I know the Hornets have a few talented players, but when you hear trade rumors about one of the best players in the game periodically because the franchise is losing money its a good sign that team is not a real competitor. Any team should be able to make money and compete.

I THINK THE KNICKS AND THE HEAT. BOTH OF THEM ARE DOING BAD AND WILL NOT GET A CHAMPIONSHIP EVER. TOO BAD LEBRON DECIDED NOT TO STAY WITH CLEVELAND, THEY ARE DOING GOOD.
What team could the NBA do without? Of course, it's the Paperclips. They really need to move them out of L.A. or shut them down.
Charlotte! The Clips and Grizz wouldn't suprise me either, maybe the Bucks.
Nets, Clippers, Warriors, Raptors and TWolves.
I would take them out then let the dust settle and see how the other teams fare with the redistribution of talent.
If need more, Grizzlies and Cleveland.
My take it that if they constantly lose their talent to bigger markets, then what's the point of breaking the hearts of the fans?
Either they settle a way that every player (or even every team like the NFL) makes the same amount of money or that no player can move (once drafted) or any crazy idea like this, or there'll always be teams who are there just to add up numbers.

I used to live in Vegas and I'm telling you the NBA is not welcomed there at this time. When the AS Game was held there back in '07 the "hip hop crowd" that follows the NBA p*ssed off most of Vegas. The guests in town for that game were rude to the waitresses, talked s--h--!--t to the card dealers and generally walked around intimating casino patrons and refused to tip. Sereral thing Vegas just won't tolerate. I mean you really gotta be a big time ****-up to be told that a league that generates the money the NBA does to not return to Vegas. That place is all about money, but they want NOTHING TO DO with the NBA right now. The so-called fans (thugs is more like it) that follow the hip-hop sceen and the NBA sure know how to keep it real...REAL DUMB. I mean they have been kicked outta Vegas for the foreseeable future. I'm pretty sure that's never happened there.
