NBA  > General NBA  > NBA Season Preview: Orlando Magic

This comes down to 3 people, all pretty simple in my eyes. 1. If Howard takes a step toward becoming Hakeem 2.0 and gets even CLOSE to a ???dream shake??? Heck even a ???Dream (vanilla) Softie??? then he Magic will have a weapon to slow down the Celtics, Crush the Heat and smoke anyone else in the East.
If not, Rashard Lewis and Vince Carter has to boost the team.
2. Chris Duhon has to take the starting role and get back to the guy that was going 12 and 7 in New York, with Lewis and Howard, there is no reason he can???t pull those numbers and more. if not, Nelson has to run the team- and I don???t like him against Wade/Rose/Rondo in the playoffs with the clock winding down.
3. Vince Carter. You know what he needs to do, so does he and so does EVERY opponent he plays against.
I think he needs to NOT do that, I???d move him to the bench and use him to boost the bench, and give him a few chances a game to boost the team and the crowds. Expecting 25 points a game is going to hurt the team and wear Carter down. 12-15 points would be great in 4-5 spots a game. Howard can scoop up the defensive drop that JJ would cause- and he can funnel runners that way.
I???m not sure the Magic are done looking to make a deal for a solid third player in the rotation, and only Howard, Lewis and Redick are off the table.

My Magic still have a chance Dwight may never have the post game of the dream but if the dream had the power of dwight maby he wouldnt have his only championships in the lost years of Jordan. He will never have a dream shake but if he stays out of foul trouble and the free trows start to fall the east will fall as well.
