BIG EAST talke about going to 10 teams. they are doing this in hope to keep their BCS BID! They talk about Villanova, TCU, UCF, and HOUSTON. ALL ARE HORRIBLE CHOICES.

The BIG EAST needs to bend over backwards to get NOTRE DAME to join. NOTRE DAME already plays all their sports in the BIG EAST but football. Notre Dame would be the real big team worth getting.

Notre Dame- Good pick up! Brings ALOT to the table

Villanova- NO, NO, NO, NO! This is bad and will never work out. They will be another UCONN (yes UCONN has had their up years but NO)

TCU- lots of TV market to gain and recruiting grounds but TEXAS...really? Not gonna happen. Might as well get Boise State as your other team if your getting TCU.

UCF- the big east already has USF and this would just be another florida team in the market to help television revenue and recruiting. UCF makes some sense but I am not sold on it all the way.

Houston- Big Tv Market but Houston needs to hold out for the invite from the BIG-12. They are second biggest university in the state of texas. Houston and TCU should be the 2 teams to take the place of Colorado and Nberaska in the Big-12.

Who do you think they should get? who makes sense?

Notre Dame needs to get with the times and join the BIG EAST. They will finally play some level competition and get back to a level of respectable. Notre Dame could roll through the big east every year. No more bad losses to TULSA!

In order of teams mentioned I would go after these teams:

NOTRE DAME
UCF
VILLANOVA
TCU
BOISE STATE
HOUSTON

As bad as the Big East has been OOC (2-11) is season against BCS competition, its AQ status is not in endangerment. The BCS uses a 4-year sliding scale to judge the qualifications of conferences. By that metric the ACC is currently the weakest AQ conference and, incidentally, still meets all BCS qualifications. (Just for the record the ACC this season is 3-10 OOC against BCS competition.)

The MWC, the highest ranked non-AQ conferences, has yet to meet all the BCS standards by the 4-year sliding scale. (Again, just for the record, they are 5-9 this season BCS competition.)

The Big East is doing this to maintain critical membership and protect itself should "certain current members" find the grass greener in someone else's conference.
