I know the season is young and football is still more important than basketball at this point, but I have been waiting for this day. Although we're only 4 games into the season and there are 78 to go, everything is looking up for the Knicks for the first time in a while.

We are 2-2 and in 6th place in the Eastern conference and haven't even started to gel. Galinari hasn't gotten on track, Amare hasn't been dominant yet, and Ray Felton is just starting to up his assists to turnovers.

Despite that, none of the teams behind the Knicks look like a strong candidate to be in front of them in the win column by the end of the season. So it looks like 6th place seed is the starting point and we may be able to do better.

Sitting behind the Knicks are the Pacers, Nets, Wizards, Raptors, Cavs, Sixers, Pistons. None of those teams are particularly exciting or have playoff hopes this year. The more games we get into, the further they will fall behind.

What am I happy about? We finally have a team. And regardless of Carmelo Anthony rumors, this current team is a good team. It has a great 10 man rotation which features two full 1-5 lineups of backup PG through center that can all play.
As the season chugs along, Ray Felton is going to start tearing it up, and it looks like it can be a differant guy every night filling up the stat sheet off the bench. All I'm saying is come April look out all you Hawks, Celtics, Magic teams, because the Knicks will be coming hard this year.

I'm sorry, but this enthusiasm is undeserved. The Knicks are still awful. You are devaluing the term great when you said they have a GREAT 10 man rotation. They have 3 players that are worth a damn. Raymond Felton for his career is a mediocre player that should not start unless the team is as bad as the Knicks are. He couldn't start on a good team. This team will not make the playoffs. Who's better? The Pacers, Bobcats, Cavs, and 76ers. Maybe the Wizards as well. They haven't fixed any of the problems they previously had. They are just paying a different PF a lot more than they paid the last one. The knicks are definately a work in progress and have given some hope for next season, but they suck right now just as expected. The Knicks and the Clippers are probably the only two teams I can think of where its a really big deal if they could start out only losing half their games instead of more. They've lost 3 in a row at the present and that's just going to continue. It's nice to root for your favorite team, but these guys suck compared to the rest of the league and they are in a losing franchise. This season doesn't look too good for NY fans.

They aren't playing well, but its not the talent level. It has been the coaching scheme. I still maintain they are more talented than any of the middle tier teams in the eastern conference. Knicks have Stoudamire who can play at an All star level, and good complimentary guys in Wilson Chandler, and Felton, who is still getting his 8 assists a game, while upping his scoring.
