I think it's nice. But 409 is the one that matters.

Yeah, he's a CFB icon. I don't really care when he gets it, or against which team, but I want him to hit 400.
Yup. I may not be a PSU fan....but everyone loves Joe Pa.

400 is one of those numbers that you want to be sure you watch a bit of the game when it happens. Don't think we will see 400 again for a very long time.

I will be watching the whole ENTIRE game....at a Penn State bar (with a friend) and my PSU gear on!!! :)
This will be a great milestone for a great coach.
Though I think as far as JoePa is concerned, he doesn't care that much about the #'400'. I'm pretty sure he'll be happier to get another win for his kids. That's just the kind of person he is.

Very true. This is more of a milestone for the institution and the team in a sense. Sure he's happy, sure he likes to win. But he'd rather have a winning season than a winning game, if you know what I mean.

Agreed. Sort of like treating 700 HRs in baseball as a milestone. Impressive, but 755 is what matters.

477 (and counting) if you include all divisions.
Trix nailed it; REAL college football fans know what a big deal this is.... and I love everything about this speech but the last line... :)

JoePa is awesome. I hope he hits 420! As long as he always loses to tOSU from now until infinity.

Joe Paterno is shooting for his 400th win Saturday against the Northwestern Wildcats.Preview the game here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgjxIlYnJTY&hd=1).I'm a Penn State student, and all I hear around here is buzz about the possibility of JoePa's 400th win. It seems to me that there is no question that it is significant historically. The question is - do you agree? Do you even care about this milestone?
Irrelevant. 401 is ALL that matters.
Of course, you mean as long as 401 comes on Nov 13, and not Nov 20!

Yep. Next weekend. :)

I know Cleckler cares...he thought he would be the first to 400.

That's a good piece of number trivia. Who has 477 and counting?
QUOTE(#20):
Who has 477 and counting?
478, now.
John Gagliardi.
- 24 wins at Carroll College. 1949-1952 (NAIA)
- 454 wins at St John's, Minn (NAIA and Div III). 1953 to present.
