Arians is a freakin joke. He does not know how to adjust his game plan to what the defense is doing. Has this man EVER heard of a slant? WTF?!?!?

I think Tomlin's job is up for discussion............
Even if there is another melt down, I think Tomlin is safe for a while. Look at his record, division titles his first two years, a SB in 2008 and managed to rally the team last year. They lost five in a row but he won his last three to finish strong. A lot of other teams would have rolled over and died at that point, he kept them from doing so.
There are 32 teams in the NFL, and about 28 would love to have Tomlin as their HC.
Even Cowher and Noll turned in losing seasons from time to time.

It's time to abandon the passing game and re-establish the running game. Everytime Pittsburgh attempts more passes than runs, they either lose or just barely win (i.e. last year vs GB) Yes, I realize 3 or 4 of the starting offensive line are out, but they can still run if they keep at it. Also I agree with other posts...Why are they not blitzing? They have one of the most devastating pass rushes in the NFL, and they are not using it as often as they should. To hell with the risk of fines...Turn them loose and let them play like they are capable of playing. Also, Mike Tomlin isn't going anywhere. Disregarding his past success, he is a very good coach who can get the most from his team. Remember, they were down 23-3 in the fourth and managed to try and get back in the game. The offensive philosophy needs to shift back to ball control to win these kind of games.
SS: Agree that the offense needs more balance, ie run to set up the pass. Problem is, our esteemed OC can't create anything more than his tired, predictable gameplan. Right now, both Redman and Mendy are dinged up and nobody's afraid of Moore running btw the tackles.
Arians needs to be shown the door....LeBeau needs to turn back the clock to 2008...Tomlin needs to step up and TAKE CHARGE of this fiasco. The "comeback" in the 4th qtr failed before it could start, as the Pats were in prevent mode, knowing it would take too many possessions to score enough points to win. That pick-six that Ben threw pretty much slammed the door shut.
The Steelers CAN'T abandon the pass.....we can't effectively run the ball against 8-9 in the box with the personnel we have. BUT, Ben can throw the short pass to replace the run, just like Brady did against us Sunday. Heath Miller is an effective short-range target, why not use him?
The offense needs to be overhauled to take advantage of the personnel still healthy. With Pouncey the ONLY starter left on the OL, Ben's not going to have alot of time to throw. TOMLIN is the HEAD COACH, ultimately, the outcome of this season depends upon him TAKING CHARGE and addressing the problems.......something I haven't seen him do yet.
First, I totally agree, Arians has to go!!!!!! He screwed up Couch when he was the OC in Cleveland and he hasn't done any better in Pittsburgh. Secondly, the offensive line has been a constant problem over the past few years. Tomlin needs to address this in the draft and free agency process. Without a good line no quarterback or running back can be expected to do much.
Old Art Rooney has to be turning over in his grave over what they are doing to his beloved Steelers.
At least the Steelers finally got rid of Reed..........

I'm not sure the guy they got to replace him with is that much better. He's been cut by two teams in the NFL already and Hines field isn't exactly a great place for a kicker. Not sitting on the water like that.

I am.......Suisham was getting his KOs into the end zone all day, and NOT giving the Raiders the AUTOMATIC 1st and 10 at the 30+ yd line, like Reed.........Heinz Field would be FINE, if there weren't so much extra-NFL use of it during the season ( U of PITT, PA HS Playoffs, etc...) The Steelers really should consider putting in Field Turf, but how would THAT hold up to the heavy use?

Wasn't he the OC when the Steelers beat Arizona in the Super Bowl?
Yeah, he was..................Steelers WON that game IN SPITE of Arians play calling. That end of game TD to Holmes was ALL Roethlisberger improvisation, as he had JUST MISSED SH on a play to the other side of the end zone......
Arians is STILL an idiot.......despite the win yesterday.
^ Guess that was a spammer that caused this to come again up NOW.
