NFL  > General NFL  > Thoughts on the Steelers - Raiders game.

I've been watching football since I was a little girl and this was the worst I've ever seen the officials call it.

There were at least 4 personal foul calls against the Steelers that shouldn't have been. If you don't believe me, hit youtube and look them up.

The first two were on Oaklands first drive. Woodley pushes Campbell to the ground and gets one for roughing the passer. Then a few plays later we get another one for 'helmet to helmet contact' when the helmets were a good two feet away from one another.

The third was when Harrison "drove the QB into the ground" on a sack where Campbell also threw a pick 6. Problem was, he didn't. He landed more to his side than on top of him.

The last was a call for 'picking people off the pile', and there was no 'pile' to speak of.

That's 60 yards against us that shouldn't have been.

All teams have bad calls go against them now and then but I've never seen a game called this lopsided. Still, Pittsburgh didn't get down on themselves and LeBeau didn't change the way he played defense. We made a lot of plays on offense and that won us the game.

Next point....Oakland is HORRIBLE!!! OMG - if the other team has about 150 yards in penalties and you only manage 3 points, you suck.

Wallace was a FIND! Blazing speed and he's proving he can take a hit as well.

Ben was flat out ON today. He made plays outside the pocket, from the pocket, on the run, and even ran one in from 16 yards out.

The game was so out of hand that they switched from that game to the Jets - Texans.

I've been watching football for more than 35 years and it was definitely the worst officiated game I've ever seen. Tunch Ilkin and Craig Woffley from the Steelers radio network said the same thing.

Why are Steeler fans the only ones that complain about the officiating?

You're either high, brain dead or have your head up your arse if you believe that to be the case. Maybe all 3.

Thanks for the insults. Now do you have anything intelligent to say?

It's only an insult if you actually believe that ridiculous question you asked. If you do in fact believe that, then you are exactly what I said you are...unless of course you can't read as there are countless posts on this site alone from fans of multiple teams in multiple sports complaining about the refs.

This from a Bears fan on this site.

Usually I don't complain about the calls if because I think you can over come a one or two bad ones...but this was way, way overboard!

Yer kiddin' me, right? You OBVIOUSLY haven't been on FN the past 5 yrs, listening to the incessant whining of the Seahawks, and more recently, Cards fans moaning about the "bad calls" theit team got in their respective SB losses........while ignoring the bad calls that went their way during the game. Specifically, I tire of hearing about how those refs knocked the ENTIRE RIGHT SIDE OF THE 'HAWKS D-LINE ON THEIR ASSES as Willie Parker ran untouched 75yds for the game-clinching TD.

When you have so many penalties on both teams during a game it shows that neither team was well coached. Their fans are like the three monkeys that see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil. They are in denial about anything negative that happens to the Steelers.
