NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > TCU onto the BE

I hope TCU has good luck in the BE. A solid program for CFB and baseball, but the basketball team is in for a rocky road.

Feel a bit sorry for BSU. They must feel like a leper.... I think the MWC of 2012 with BSU, Fresno, and Nevada added but minus Utah, BYU, and TCU will be slightly worse than the 2010 version, but the three new add-ons plus the AFA and SDSU should still be the best non-AQ conf.

the Mountain West would have been a really good conference with TCU, Boise, Utah, BYU, Nevada...shame it's not gonna happen....

this mightnot be a bad move for Horned Frog basketball in the long run--they'll take a beating early for sure, but down the road I think they should be ok

as for football, they were always going to be in the shadow of the longhorns in Texas, but now they will have exposure to the huge media markets back east...and that cannot be a bad thing for their program

It does make me wonder how well this will work out long run for TCU and the BE. The increased travel expenses for the teams may be a drain on the athletic departments. I hope that the football tv contracts make up for it. In the long run though 2 or more of the current BE teams will have to increase thier level of play to be taken seriously.

People worry about the travel expenses of a Dallas team playing teams from the mid to northern Atlantic. Oh wait... that's just the NFC East.

I guess if it's good enough for the NFL, who am I to complain. The DFW region already hates the mid-Atlantic.

The BE will probably lose it's AQ status in 2012 knowing our luck. And the other conference teams sure can;t be happy as they know they will get their **** kicked. But if they get some good recruits out of the NE, that'll be okay.

TCU's move should keep the MWC from overtaking the BE for AQ status.

That was my first thought, too. I had been thinking, "finally, with the move to the MWC, Boise and TCU can face each other every year and get another opportunity for a quality win. Doh!" What are the chances BYU finds out that going independent isn't all it's cracked up to be when your name isn't Notre Dame, and returns to the MWC in a few years?

Agree with BYU. If the B12 does not come calling they certainly might return by 2016 or so pending TV ratings.

Will miss you guys. SDSU finally turns a corner a bit and everyone leaves....

First of all, using the BCS 4-year sliding scale the MWC is chasing the ACC, not the Big East.

Secondly, using the same metric, this move pushes the Big East past the PAC 12 into 4th place and leaves the MWC without any hope of catching anyone.

Well. As a BSU fan, this has not been a good 4-day stretch. The word on the street here in Idaho is that Brotzman is on suicide watch.

There are stories the kid has been receiving death threats. There's no call for this sort of thing. Have we forgotten that this is just a game? Some people (not you, in case there was some question) need to get a sense of perspective.

this is a really, really sad story

It's sick.

Not to mention unnecessary considering Boise State wasn't going to be in the National Championship Game anyway. Scraping out a close win against Nevada would not have been nearly enough to propel BSU over either Auburn or Oregon.

It is sick.

But the loss is bigger than you are making it out to be. Even without a loss by Oregon or Auburn, it still meant missing out on a Rose Bowl trip against a nationally recognized power in Wisconsin. I expect Auburn to lose to S.Carolina and if I am right they missed out on the BCS championship game. It was huge. I feel very sorry for the kid.

True, I'm still hoping TCU can sneak into the title game.
