FRANKFURT, Germany - Canada will face Germany in the first round of the Women's World Cup, grouped with the host and two-time defending champion at Monday's draw.

The CONCACAF title winner also will face eight-time and reigning African champion Nigeria and France in Group A of the June 26-July 17 tournament.

The two-time champion United States, which defeated Italy 1-0 on Saturday to complete a 2-0 aggregate victory over Italy for the last berth in the 16-time field, was seeded in Group D and will face Asian championship runner-up North Korea, debutante Colombia and 2003 runner-up Sweden in Group C.

CONCACAF runner-up Mexico was drawn into Group B with Japan, New Zealand and England.

The remaining group will be comprised of Brazil, Australia, Norway and Equatorial Guinea.

Canada will begin against Germany in the opening match June 26 in Berlin, face France four days later in Bochum and finish July 5 in Dresden against Nigeria.

Mexico will open against England in Wolfsburg on July 27, and follow against Japan on July 1 in Leverkusen, and New Zealand in Sinsheim on July 5.

The Americans will play North Korea, which it is unbeaten against in three matches, on July 28 in July 28 in Dresden, take on Colombia July 2 in Sinsheim and complete its first-round schedule against Sweden in Wolfsburg on July 6.
