NBA  > General NBA  > Lakers in need of a center, and the Houston Rockets can help.

When December 15th arrives, the Lakers and the Houston Rockets need to make a trade that will benefit both parties. Here is my trade suggestion, and hopeful future events to come for the Rockets.

The Lakers trade Sasha Vujacic's expiring contract to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Brad Miller and Patrick Patterson. This helps both the Lakers and Rockets if Houston is to not re-sign Yao Ming and they release Sasha Vujacic at the end of the season.

Why?

Because they open the possibility of signing free agent Carmelo Anthony and a center such as Marc Gasol to replace Yao Ming. This is a tempting move for both Carmelo and Marc as Houston can build around those two on top of players they already have such as:

Shane Battier
Aaron Brooks
Jordan Hill
Jared Jefferies
Courtney Lee
Kyle Lowry
Kevin Martin
and Luis Scola.

Not a bad set of players that can make noise as a team in years to come. Meanwhile, Houston helps the Lakers in their center problems.

Fair trade???
