NCAAF  > General NCAAF  > College Football WEEK 13 Thought, Rants, Haha Boise and HOT WOMEN!

Once again TCU was left to wonder "what if" when two more teams did not play a full game vs Auburn and Oregon. What an exciting week of college football with so much at stake and it being a rivalry game. Now onto some thoughts and highlights from this past week and the games to come.

1) Auburn is a team of destiny. After Alabama came out and dominated the first half Auburn took over and did what it has done best all year...dug itself out of a hole and won at the end. Alabama fans have the deer in the headlight look after blowing a lead like that. If Trent Richardson would have caught that pass on the goal line for a Touchdown and Bama did not have to settle for a field goal then I think the game would have been alot different. That would have made it 28-0. If Saban kept his boys attacking all game then Auburn would be going to the Sugar Bowl.

2) Oregon likes to give people false hope of an upset. When Arizona was leading 19-14 at halftime you only could wonder when would Oregon score 40 points in 3 minutes or less? Oregon struggles vs a dominate defense line even when they do not fake injury. They do get the job done but it takes a little longer. Up next is the CIVIAL WAR. Should be a great game in the 1st quarter then when Oregon score 35 unanswered points in the 2nd quarter we can turn the game off and watch the SEC championship game!

3) Wow Boise or more like EWW! You blow a 24-7 lead but somehow still be able to win it with 2 seconds to go and miss a chip shot. If you ask me the field goal looked super close. This loss could be devastating but I feel bad for Utah State who Boise plays next because they will take it all out on them. Also you have to feel bad for Boise...they moved to the MWC and now everyone who they wanted to play is gone. Better luck next time Boise. On one more side note this was the first game that Boise Starters had to play a whole game. I wonder if they were so exhausted in the 4th quarter because they have not played a full game all year?

4) Wisconsin and Stanford. That would be a great ROSE BOWL match up if it could happen. Both teams are on fire and both teams could even deserve a shot at the national title game. With how wisconsin just runs the ball I wonder if they would be able to keep an Auburn or Oregon offense off the field? Stanford had a great year but I bet changes will be coming with the coach and QB. If I had my vote they would both play in the Rose Bowl and it would be a RED sellout!

5) BEDLAM at it's best. Not only did Oklahoma and Oklahoma State score 40 4th quarter points but it's how they did it. The game had so many twists and turns. I never doubted Oklahoma would win it. Never a dull game when both those teams meet. Oklahoma State is an exciting team to watch and you wonder who is going to try and pluck their offensive coordinator for a head coaching spot. With the win Oklahoma created a 3 way tie for the Big-12 south but its not as bad as 2008. Oklahoma got the spot without sweating the BCS.

6) How About the mess caused in the BIG EAST! To think UCONN could still get a BCS bowl game and win the conference if they win against a walk on QB at USF! TCU is so excited to go beat up on the BIG EAST! THE BCS should make a rule that a team can not get a BCS bowl unless they are ranked in the Top 15 or something because the BIG EAST is a joke!

7) How about how the ACC handled business. The same day FSU manhandled their rival Florida they found out they will play for the ACC championship game thanks to Maryland. Their opponent: Virginia Tech. Credit to BEAMER BALL for after losing 2 games won 10 straight and will most likely win the Conference title. Should be a great game.

What a great season it has been. Once again another year shows we need playoff with so many one loss teams proving themselves worthy. I am hoping for more BCS chaos and for Auburn and Oregon to lose even though it will not happen.

Yep, my wife thought I took a Viagra at halftime of the Iron Bowl I was so excited. Then what a bummer.

I post alot more on my blog...go check it out. I had to trim this one down! 4000 character maximum!

Arkansas barely won thanks to that last second TD before the half! What a play! Arkansas will be moving up in the SEC with their new coach and passing attack!

any thoughts on the Urban Meyer mess? he needs to bench Brantley and just tell him "hey kid, we tried but its not working out" and then start Reed to get him ready to roll!

November 30, 2010  01:08 PM ET

That would mean Urban might have to admit he made the wrong call.....

November 30, 2010  01:25 PM ET

Good post. My rant for today: In 2011 I will refuse to call the B10 the B10. Its bad enough with 11 teams, but with 12 teams and another "Big" conference with ten teams in it.... I just can't.

Does anyone have some suggestions? I was thinking of maybe going with TCUN.

Thanks...my post was alot better but i had to cut stuff out to make it fit...check my blog...

i joked that they keep the big-10 logo but change all letters "N" in BIG TEN to the color red and make it look like nebraska! then things are fine

Rant about TCU having the worst Geography of the BIG EAST! ;)

Your "deer in the headlights" description of Bama fans is perfect. I still have a hard time believing that Ingram's fumble went all the way to the end zone, that Richardson dropped the goal line pass, and that McElroy's fumble fell behind one of his offensive linemen, who did not see the ball or look around for it before Fairley had time to get off McElroy, dive back around the guard, and recover the fumble. I'm sure this is how Tennessee fans felt after two blocked field goals last year.

Snowballs have a chance in the Sahara, too. Oh well, maybe I just uttered some famous last words.

TCUN a bad abreviation: the letters could get scrambled and get us kicked off the boards. From Rhode Island, they're more like TCOW. That one could be funny. From the whole country's perspective, they are basically TCIM. TMC is a possibility: The Math Conference. They ought to call themselves the Mid-Western or the Heartland, or something not tied to a number.
How about the Rust Belt? With Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan schools, they have the whole rust belt represented. If you want to go historical, the Iron Brigade was from Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin. In honor of Iowa's position in electoral politics, we could even call them the Midwest Caucus. Do you like any of these?

TMC is great. Would replace math with middle and be all set-although PSU is only what, 150 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.....

Other than TMC the Iron Brigade sounds pretty cool as well.
