Gonna have to put Matt Cassel in this discussion.
You know the name did cross my mind.. he's having a amazing second half but he should have chewed up the broncos today.

After tonight's gutsy performance, have to say that Roethlisberger deserves some respect. If he beats the Jets and runs the table to finish the season, it'll be a "Seabiscuit-like" story.......

Rothlisberger didn't play enough games. They were 3-1 without him. Plus nobody is going to vote him in this year, even if he deserved it. I'm not arguing on whether he deserves consideration or not, just that the people with votes will hold his activities against him.
Rodgers can only win if they get ahead of the Bears, I think. Brady's campaign takes a hit if he doesn't beat the Jets tonight.

Wasn't he banned for 25% of the season?
Anyway, I don't remember the story of Seabiscuit starting in a bathroom with a drunk, underage girl and guards making sure that no one could get back there while he "has his way" with her.

Anyway, with the "conspiracy" against the Steelers, how is it possible he could win?

Since We have no real say so in the matter, I'm going to nominate Jon Kitna. Considering his age, and the fact that he hadn't taken a snap in about 2 years, I think he's doing really good for a back up QB. Not to mention the fact that he was thrown into a situation that looked unachievable and was able to win the past 3 of 4 games, and should have been 4.
Okay, since he has no chance there, then how about "Comeback Player of The Year"?

I'll give you that Ironman it was a gutsy performance... the suspention would take him out of any mvp talk though.
Brady and Ryan are the clear front runners, given they have played the entire season... Vick's injury games will be the excuse the AP will use for not picking him...

QUOTE (#7&8): "Wasn't......BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.....win?"
Ah, Shadenfraud ( I actually Like that derivation of yer handle ), once again, making false statements about something you know nothing about..... The MVP awad is based upon a players value to his team, no on someone elses opinion of him personally. Ben duly accepted his punishment, fair or not, unlike many other players that could have appealed and played the whole season ( ie Williams' in Minn ). Although the Steelers did go 3-1 in his absence, it was PAINFULLY obvious against the Ravens, how ineffective the offense was without him....
I highly doubt that your pretty boy QB could have done half of what Ben did last night, with a broken foot and a broken nose.....Oh, that's right! the refs would have simply declared the game forfeit by the Ravens after the 1st shot to the head by Ngata, had it broken Tom Terrific's nose.....The reason the Steelers are in contention for a playoff spot this season is about 99% due to Roethlisberger's play.

Not just Ben's play. The Steeler D has played really well when they needed to. Don't underestimate Tom. He is a tough guy too. I know he seems babyish at times. But the guy is tougher than people think.

I don`t think Cassel belongs in there at all, he is so inaccurate with his passes that the defense can`t even catch the ball, thats why the int`s are down. The running game is what has the Chiefs were they are.
I'll take your word for it. But to only have 4 picks at this point and time is really good.

Agree that it's not ALL Ben......but no single player has as much of an impact on the fortunes of the Steelers than Roethlisberger: not Harrison, not Mendenhall, not Polamalu ( although that was an outstanding and game-turning play he made ). My point is that if you compare the other names being mentioned, their impact on the respective teams pales by comparison. And just to rationalize my comment regarding Brady, I never said he was a sissy......but, if Brady took 40+ sacks every season for the past 5 yrs ( like Roethlisberger ) he would be on IR...and I doubt if he would have played with a broken foot and broken nose.......that's all.
This topic is over....
Brady just ran away with it tonight!!! Brady will be MVP!
