NFL  > Dallas Cowboys  > Dallas Running Back Of the Future Is Tashard Choice
December 6, 2010, 05:48 PM
Since the end of 08 Barber has been hurt and missed games. Choice the 5'9" back from Georgia Tech looks to be a player. Each time he has seen the bulk of playing time he has excelled. His play on each occasion has been stellar. He has rarely had enough carries to prove his worth but these numbers in six games tell the story...

08 vs. Pittsburgh 23 carries 88 yards 0 tds

vs. Giants 9 " 91 " 1 "

vs. Baltimore 17 " 90 " 1 "

vs. Eagles 13 ' 56 " 0 "

09
vs. Chiefs 8 " 92 " 1 "

10

vs. Colts 19 "" 100 " 1 "

Totals

89 carries 517 yards 5.8 per carry 4 touchdowns

Choice also had163 yards receiving on 17 receptions. Why do injuries have to happen for this guy to get on the field? Wake up Jason!

Please stop...this will come back to bite you at some point, just like most of your other threads.

ATF, Felix had a +9.0 yds/carry after his first season....you need a large body of work, not a snapshot to make these evaluations. Listen to sweetcakes.

He deserves a shot. He is a better back then Barber right now. Obviously they don't feel Felix can handle the load. I have seen several times where Jones has failed to pick up the blitz. He is not a good blocker. Right now is the time to give Choice an opportunity.

You want Barber, you are looney.

How do you logically come to the conclusion that I want Barber based on my comment? That makes no sense to ANYONE with reading comprehension skills.

*smacks ATF again*

Simmer down now y'hear!!

Felix is the starter....period.

Choice should be #2.

Barber should be traded for a draft pick...Marion is NOT the player he was early in his career.

MBIII is nothing more than 2-3yds and a cloud of dust...

I like Felix too but my point is that Barber has no business being ahead of Choice right now. Choice and Jones are a better combo.

Theres nothing wrong with me thinking Choice might be a player and should be given a chance.

At my house we laugh at Barber's style; after 2-3 yard he looks for someone to hit or run over, that failing he launches himself against the ground and hits that.

ATF,
nope, nothing wrong with that, entitled to your opinion.

I think the consensus here is you generally "cherry pick" your statistics to suit your argument. Remember critical thinking is important, the next question is to ask "why is Choice NOT a starter", there may be some reasons and there may be some reasons as fans (and not coaches) that we don't know.

The RB of the future isnt on the team. All 3 of these backs cant impress garrett enough to start them and play them consistently. Therefore you really have zero backs capable of playing on the NFL level.

absolutely.... look for barber to be playing for another team next season.
