NFL  > General NFL  > No more talk about how great the Jets are.
December 7, 2010, 11:21 AM
Last year they had a great year and this year they took steps to keep it going by picking up LT and some other guys.

For that reason we've been waiting for them to flip the switch and blow us away.

But thus far this season they've been lack luster - but still, we felt the potential was there.

This past Monday night the division, first round bye, and home field throughout was on the line.

Instead of stepping up, they got beat down. Lost by 6 TD's.

It was the football equivalent of the Rodney King beating.

The Jets aren't who we thought they were...they'll get a WC spot and likely end up going to KC (#5 plays in #4's house).

Their coach seems to be a braggadocio with a swaggering, cocky manner. That's fine if your team can back you up, but from what I've seen of him, he carries it a bit too far sometimes. Such as the comment about Brady being married to a super model, and then he said he (Ryan) was married to one too, and pulled out some magazine and showed off some pic of a woman.
That was really unnecessary in my opinion.

Next will be a bounty on someone on an opposing team...................lol

And that's why I'm so hard on them right now. They've bragged all year about how good they are then they go out and lay an egg like that.

They just didn't lose....they lost by 42 points.

If you're going to do that, just rest your starters.

I can understand your feelings. Teams that talk must back it up with good play. Last night they just got embarrassed. So we'll see how things go from here.

You know what's funny? Ryan said in his thing with the reporters that if he could, the Jets would go right back out on the field and play them again.....that same day.......he was owned and don't want to admit it.......lol

Game was over when Ryan "blinked" on the Pats TD that made it 24-3.....receiver got 1 foot down, landed on his arm OUT OF BOUNDS, and then 2nd foot hit down. Even the refs milled around for awhile trying to decide if it was good or not. Finally, the one ref shrugs his shoulders and throws up his hands.....Ryan just stands there and lets the extra point go up....
At that point, it was apparent that there was no fight left in the coach....or the team.

I hope they come to Pittsburgh with that same attitude, so Lefty can get some playing time and Ben can rest his foot......LOL

EZ: Wow......just, wow.........nobody's beating you ( or yer boys ) with a stick. Unfortunately, they've come out on the short end of several close games.....can't change the fact that no playoff this year. But to say that breakin' somebody's nose with a flagrant head blow is "**** happens" is low for you. Would you say blowing out somebody's knee intentionally is "**** happens?" Or hitting a guy in the head from behind as he's trying to dive fo a catch is "**** happens?" I've been a staunch defender of James Harrison all year bcz he's been targeted by the refs for plays that are within the rules......he's not playing ANY DIFFERENT than he always has...just ears back/balls to the wall. Yet, whenever various Steelers players are the target of "questionable" hits, the refs seem to be looking the opposite direction. How many roughing the passer calls has Roethlisberger gotten this year? Clue: big fat 0...... In fact, how many RTP calls has he gotten the past 5 yrs?...... Clue: less than Brady has in 1 game.....

So don't go all postal over us Steeler fans raising the hue and cry over the "double standard" that the NFL has been pulling.....you'd do the same if yer Bengals got that treatment....

Funny you talk about blowing out knees when Steeler fans celebrated it when it happened to Tom Brady.

Do you need directions to Roswell New Mexico or do you think you can find it, because those are the only people I know of who hold onto a conspiracy like you do.

The Jets sure looked good on paper at the beginning of the season. That loss to them in Week 2 had me believing they had transferred the "good on paper" to good on the field. Like the song goes, 'it's not where you start, it's where you finish', and the Jets have a ways to go.

Schad: Don't speak for me or any of the Steelers fans I know ( which number in the 100's ) regarding any "celebration" when Brady injured his knee. Now YOU'RE sounding a bit paranoid with that all-encompassing statement that demeans the members of SteelerNation's character. Everyone I know prefers to play opponents at their best, as anything else is getting less than that teams full potential....

As far as a "conspiracy" is concerned....I never used that term in any post I authored or responded to. I'll just ask you this question..if Tom Brady's nose were broken due to being clubbed in the facemask, on a nationally televised night game, do you think he would have drawn a roughing-the-passer, or even an illegal hit to the head penalty? Do you know how many RTP calls Roethlisberger has gotten in the last 5 years? Clue: less than the one against Terrell Suggs that Brady requested a couple of years ago, when the replay showed CLEARLY that Suggs never touched Brady's helmet.....( waiting for answer....silence.....) Yeah, just like I thought.....

Hope they have fire insurance.
