My feelings are simple. The Wilpon's have a strive for second mentality, hired a gutless mouthpiece that told them what they wanted to hear, and ultimately do not give a rat's ass for their fans. They are responsible for the sad state of the team and if they wanted to show the fans actual appreciation they would eat their budget for a year. Pena at one year ten million is an example of what is possible if you they weren't cheap, pathetic dogs. They would still have payroll "flexibility" next year.

To Wilpon, sell the team to someone who gives a rats ass about winning. Anyone who pays money to see them play should have their head examined.

omar terrible at evaluating talent and never built a strong farm system while making very bad signings and boging the mets down with a very large and unflexible pay roll..... i think the mets will get beter with this change in regime, though not by alot and not enough to topple ethier the phils or braves in the next few years. but the team should improve considerably in the next few years.
