Haven't seen a thread yet, so i was curious about the response. Don't know much about the guy, but if he can turn Temple around, he must be doing something right.

You should ask Mojo Risen. He is a quality guy/poster and a big supporter of the Hurricanes.

He ran a good program at Temple, turned them around in a few short years, the man deserves to move up the ladder, too b..........

conscience: I am censoring you

I am going to say it

conscience: no your not

yes I am

conscience: don't think do, I'll get Dennis Leary over here to kick your butt

yeah right like he is a Hurricane fan, I doubt that!

conscience: well maybe a BC fan that will take the Eagles frustrations out on you

yeah right after he films another season of that 'Rescue Me' turkey of his on F/X

conscience: he who has the bigger paycheck at the end of the day wins

As a total outsider, I am surprised. The big-name coordinators and established head coaches (see all the Urban Meyer threads for names) did not get the call. Golden did some amazing things at Temple, which I remember being eulogized as the absolute worst team in Division 1-A a few years ago. Without major conference experience, his possibilities are endless, for good an ill. He could be "Gene Chizik: Auburn Edition" and achieve greatness in two years or he could be "Gene Chizik: Iowa State Edition" and do no better than his predecessor.
A note to Hammered and his conscience: the next coaching star from the mid-majors that you will need to snatch before he goes elsewhere is Mike Haywood, head coach of MAC Champion Miami of Ohio.

Someone from Miami talk to me about Shannon. What was his background before taking over as HC of the "U"? What did he do well, what did he screw up? I'm hearing his name as a leading candidate to replace Muschamp as Texas' DC. Should I be happy? Scared? What?

JRM as long as his name is not RichRod or Greg Robinson your team should be fine.

My conscience can be a real punk sometimes, too bad a certain AD does not have one.

YES! I am very happy. Golden turned around a pathetic Temple program. Had a nice recruiting class in 09 found a diamond in the rough in Bernard Pierce in 08 and was building another solid recruiting class in '10. He can recruit and build up his players.
