NFL  > Miami Dolphins  > Ricky Williams

Can anyone give me some insight why Ricky is not playing or at least not playing very much? Is he injured? Is there any truth that he may be returning to the CFL next season?

Just Curious,

I would guess that it means his coaches don't think he's the best running back on the roster.

He does seem to be getting his fair share of carries, though, from where I'm looking (though I have no knowledge of the Dolphins' season-long stats).

Miami is splitting the carries between him and Brown. I hope he doesn't go back to the CFL. Ricky's my boy.. I'm glad to see him in the NFL.

Over 30 running back vs. 27 year old running back. Most NFL teams would be giving the majority of the carries to the younger back.

Ronnie Brown came alive AFTER Ricky came to town Whether its fear of job loss OR comraderie OR competetiveness IT WORKS Williams and Brown bringing you yards and bruises Starring in a playoff game coming to your town soon.

Ricky looks like he has turned himself in the right direction. Watching him each week, he displays team leadership and looks as though he is willing to play whatever role is need in order to help the team. I think he should handle more of the carries because from what I remember, Ricky always seemed to get better as the game went on.

He is splitting carries between Ronnie Brown, Patrick Cobbs and Polite (fullback). He signed a contract extension with the Dolphins for the 2009/2010 so I highly doubt he doesnt return to the CFL unless next pre-season he cant make the cut. I've enjoyed watching him over the years, I have a good feeling he will finish off his football career strong with the Dolphins before moving onto medical school.

Ronnie Brown is the RB in miami hands down.. Ricky Williams gives them a good one-two punch in the running game and i think they are going to stay the same at least one more year and be even better.. Especially after they improve on the OL in the draft..

I like Ricky, I am glad he's back and seems to be staying out of trouble. Ronnie Brown's my boy though. It is good to have Ricky to mix it up, keep em guessing. The plays that they ran in the final Jet game were outstanding. I only wish they would have mixed it up like that in the Raven game. It kills me to see the Ravens advancing like they are. Fins will definitely be a team to be reckoned with next year, especially with Ricky, Ronnie, Chad, Porter, & Crowder! Still miss seeing zach and jason on the defense though.

he is in there... he is sharing carries... Cobbs is getting his fair share of plays since there is no real downfield passing game with Pennington/the WR's they have... it's not a bad little mix they got with the 3 rb's taking turns
