NFL  > General NFL  > Wild year in the NFL

3 games left (for mos teams) and still so many questions.

In the NFC you have the Bears as the cinderella and the Eagles as the "feel good story of the year"? Wow, that was brought to you by the Star News.

The Falcons get most of the praise while the SB champs are flying under the radar in their own division. Looks to me like the Giants will be the 6th team in even tough they are leaps and bounds ahead of the team that will have the 4th seed.

You have epic failure like the Cowboys, Vikings and the 49ers.

You have surprise teams like TB and STL.

What you don't have is a definitive favorite to represent the conference. So who is it?

In the AFC, you have just as many variables. You have your regulars, PITT and NE, then you have a large range of the who's a contender who's a pretender league.

Who's the biggest surprise? Take Lacksonville and Kansas City and flip a coin. Then you have Indy and SD trying to sqeak into the playoffs.

The feel bad story of the year, maybe the failures of the Houston Texans.

But unlike the NFC, I think people are feeling comfortable picking a favorite and that would be NE. Not to say it is a done deal, because also unlike the NFC, there are more than 3 teams that have a legit shot. Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and even the Jets have the tools needed, and if SD or INDY slip in, they could be dangerous.

So after a whacky year like this, who do you pick?

Me personally, I am going to pick New England over either Philly, Atlanta or New Orleans..

My preseason picks are still alive, but I am not sticking to them at this point. (NO over NYJ)

Nice post Diablo. Although, I would love to see an underdog win the big one this year. Say Atlanta??

I don't think Philly will win the Superbowl but they are my sentimental pick as an NFC East team and they do NOT have a superbowl win in their two appearances.

I don't know what the reaction is if M Vick is holding the Lombardi Trophy and going to Disney World after? I do know that I could not take a two week and 6 hour lead-in on Vick's past (as if we don't get enough of that now).

I also don't consider Atlanta as an under-dog currently.

I mean underdog as in...they aren't the Patriots. :)

You can say that again D.A. it has been a crazy year in the NFL, full of surprises, let downs and feel good stories a roller coaster year to say the least.

Sweets,
gotcha.

I don't see how the talking heads/pundits on the shows each week have a new favorite and can say that with a straight face. No sooner do they pick a favorite that the team goes out and lays a hot steaming turd performance wise.
