NFL  > Pittsburgh Steelers  > NOT GOING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT REFS................
December 19, 2010, 09:09 PM
No, I'm NOT going to complain about the poor officiating AGAIN..... NOT going to bemoan the "fabricated" personal foul penalty on Gary Clark, who CLEARLY hit Holmes in the chest WITHOUT TOUCHING his helmet!!! NO, I'm NOT going to complain about the 2 TDs that Ben was robbed of, when Cromartie first held Wallace and then Sanders as they blew by him for a sure score.... It's almost comical that the TV commentators first said "I don't understand why Sanders slowed down at the end of his route?" Then the instant replay clearly showed why; Cromartie with a handfull of jersey as he vainly chased behind Sanders.....

The J-E-T-S were NOT TOTALLY handed this game by the refs....they showed up to play and gave the Steelers a dose of their own brand of football, their RBs were finishing runs all day. Sanchez played possibly his BEST game of the year. Their OC was taking chances and called a great game against a Steeler D that hardly blitzed at all.....Troy Polamalu was sorely missed.
The Jets return game consistently gave them great starting field position ( and an opening KO return for a TD ), something the Steelers definitely did NOT get....

Bruce Arians mailed in another "less than stellar" gameplan today. Every big play the Steelers made was due to great individual efforts by Roethlisberger, Mendenhall or one of the receiving corp...... And WHO'S IDEA was it to RUN Mewelde Moore out of the end zone???? Anybody with a memory remembers what happened THE LAST TIME they did that....(clue: -2pts...)

Finally, another Steeler who was sorely missed was Heath Miller, who IMHO, makes that back of the end zone grab for the game winner.....NO, I'm NOT going to blame the refs for this Steeler loss....there's plenty of blame to go around......

Ummmm...uh...what?

Can someone please go into this in detail...I am curious

Rustman...

I watched the Steeler game, and of the some calls were close ones, but not to the crying standards that I have seen at Fan Nation.

Still it was a very good game...If your team does not pick up their pants and keep playing, you could lose the tie breaker with the Ravens and be a wild card!!!!

The title of this thread is amusing its like saying, I'm not going to tell you who said it because I told Johnny I wouldn't.

He is just a like all of the rest of us, he is a homer about his team...but he wears his emotions on his sleeve worst than most...all of us do it to a certain level, it is no crime, it's just funny

I'm glad someone else saw jets DB's holding Steeler receivers. After a couple of misses by Spaeth the jets didn't even have to worry about him. Watch the last play, Spaeth would've been out of bounds even if he caught the ball but more importantly look what was going on just in front of him. Another obvious holding that the refs seeing Eye dog tried to call but was told to sit and stay. Liste folks, I get tired week after week of the steelers putting themselves in bad situations. It just cost em this time.

No steeler fan should ever complain about officiating!! Don't forget about the gift(s) given to pittsburgh in SB XL.

You mean the gift of being able to play a crap team like the Seahawks?

Like I said before.....the refs weren't the ONLY issue I have with this game. BUT, the refs had a huge impact on the outcome with their calls FOR the Jets and their non-calls for the Steelers. You could see multiple players complaining to the refs, including Tomlin on a couple of occasions ( which is rare for him ) about the obvious holding...with the refs not even looking at the players and a pissy smirk on their faces...........That being said, I do have to give some PROPS to the Jets for playing a desperate and inspired football game. Even the pre-HOFers, Tomlinson and Taylor, played with motors running full out.....

"No, I'm NOT going to complain about the poor officiating AGAIN"

Followed by half the blog complaining about poor officiating..

It was a good game. Few missed calls sure but the officiating just seems bad all around this year. The Jets showed up. What really pissed me off was the playcall that resulted in the safety. That's what lost the game.

Is there a fan base in any sport that whines more than Steeler fans? Good lord, you guys cry about every single imagined sleight. For fans from a "tough" steel town, you're a bunch of pantywaists.

Yeah bruce blew it and the D stunk it up at times

Was my sarcasm that hard to see?....

I suppose your right...after all, having your franchise QB punched around like Mike Tyson's sparring partner is nothing to cry about...even with a broken nose. We Steeler fans should just accept the fact that the games are going to be officiated using 2 separate sets of rules....we should just be quiet and bend over and take it............................NOT!

But then again, by the number of posts ya got there, WeeWillieWinky, it looks like you don't get out much, let alone actually see an NFL game......;)

You are almost funny. Did you already forget that the ref from that game ADMITTED to missing a few calls that directly led to steeler points? Or as a pittsburgh fan is that just A FACT you refuse to acknowledge????
