That would be awesome.

Didn't they plan a middleweight grand Prix too? Hows that coming along?

did they really try to get a middleweight grand prix going? I never heard myself if they did.

QUOTE(#5):

Yeah, they talked about a middleweight tourney but it never happened. I can't get too excited with a SF rumor. Seems they never come true. A few days ago I heard Bigfoot vs Fedor, but once again, untrue.

you are a naysayer!
SO what? Have't UFC ever said something that didn't happen?
They spoke about it. They sia dhey were considering not that this was a sure thing.
People assumed this was a sure thing and then got bummed out when it didn't happen.

I say this: If this happens, it is awesome. If it doesn't, it won't be any different than UFC... one fighter fighting another etc...

But I give props for thinking/trying to do this.
Do not forget that the very fact each fighter can chose to fight for other promotions and thus not be available is an issue. but one that is not a bad thing. After all, if UFC would only adhere to it, we would see fights 10 times better than the ones they can provide us separately.

Strikeforce doesn't have enough control over their fighers to set up a grand prix. I would LOVe for this to happen. I put the chances of it happening at approximately 5% .

Bah, Jim, you know you are.
Over critical when it's about SF, but UFC is sacred... it's ok though, we know where you stand, so we take what you say, filter the hate and then we can agree... :)

But I think this is a great topic to be discussed on itself... so I will do just that :)

Well, try to make it more than "UFC" you homer! :)

I think the Strikeforce heavyweight class is every bit as good as the UFC weight class at the top. It just doesn't have quite as much depth. I would love a cross-promotion grand prix at each weight class. That would be the most epic thing ever.

OK, so SF has simply messed up all year. They seem to always do things the wrong way. When was the last title fight. Lets look at each weight class.LW. Melendez has not defended the title in 8 months. No update on a #1 contender.MW. The MW champ left the promotion and they had a vacant title fight 4 months ago. No mention of a #1 contender. This after telling us there would be an 8 man grand prix, which of course fell through.WW. Diaz won the title a year ago, and defended it once against a LW.. No mention of a #1 contender now.LHW. Fejiao won the title 4 months ago. Once again, no mention of him defending the belt. Assuming its against Henderson but when?HW. Their HW champ has defended the title once in over 3 YEARS with no sign at all of a #1 contender. JOKE.Fedor. WTF? How many times can you renegotiate a contract? He's gonna fight this guy, nope, how about that guy? Nope. When is he going to fight? no idea. Lets have a heavyweight grand Prix? After we messed up the MW grand prix. Who we gonna have in it? Overeem. Sorry he's doing K! now. Barnett? Nope, cant get a license? I got it, Fedor? Sorry, we're negotiating with him again.Stop talking SF and make some GD fights that matter for once. Poorly run promotion. Simple as that.

This is one of your top ten comments by far lol

LOL that shows how much of a hater. You never seem to find any good side of anything.... wait... unless they are UFC!

This is bogus and I call shenanigans on you!

Let's see: melendez (at least) fought a #1 from ANOTHER PROMOTION! (a thing UFC is affraid of doing).
MW has a ttle shot. And how DARE you talk about Jacare being 2-2? How was Lesnar when he got his title? At least Jacare's record is 13-2 and not a stupid 3-1 being 2 fights against cans!
So how come it is ok for UFC to say they got "the baddest man on planet" (and you bought this crap) while SF is terrible??? At least jacare got more skills than Lesnar who's only skill is being big & dumb.
WW - Diaz fought Sakurai @ dream and Noons (just 2 months ago) and will figh againin january. So stop crying.
LHW - Rafael will fight Hendo. hendo just fought, so they had to wait. And it should be soon. so why are you complaining? Last I checked, Rua fought last in MAY And they are still not locked on a date for him to fight... or is it that it's only bad when it is outside UFC?

And as for HW, their champ (at least) has been active and proving he is real. he beat one contender, and much like in UFC, the #1 contender had surgery so they had to wait.
But UNLIKE RAHSAD did, Overeem did not wait for a year to fight. he entered and won K-1 tournament instead of hiding inside his promotion and fighting nobodies to pamper his record.

Say what you want about Overeen, but he has been active. And he has been winning. And he has been proving he competes against anyone.

I blame SF for not being more energetic and ordering its fighters to fight for the promotion more. but you can't say that K-1 is a vacation.

SO please stop bashing. specially if your beloved promotion does exactly the same and you keep **** Dana's Di ck and chanting how great they are.

Stuff that has been on my mind for a while, just starting writing it all down.

you should have kept it private if you didn't want to simply show you are a hater without any real reason.
