NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > Moving forward: What direction will we take and who will we draft?
December 14, 2008, 08:15 PM
Under Mike Singletary our beloved 49ers have turned into the defense niner fans thought it could be. This being said our offense...needs a lot of personnel updates.

Who do you think the 49ers will/should draft this year/acquire in the offseason.

Personally I'm thinking: 1st, the O-line needs one of those huge Oklahoma linemen which should be a high priority; unless Javon Ringer of Michigan state is still on the board to take some pressure off the banged up frank gore.
2nd, QB!!! I'd like to see the 49ers not waste a 1st rounder at QB because no matter what there is only a small chance they will make an impact in the first year and if we can take some time to develop him rather then throwing them into the fire. shaun hill has done a good job "managing the game" but he's definitely not the answer.
3rd, another linemen, this years draft is looking to have an abundance of talent, why not take advantage? maybe a pass rusher, 26 sacks this season is pretty pathetic but what is even worse is the 50 sacks we've given up this season.

free agency/trades: this won't be very clear until the end of the season, I'm hoping we can pick up a proven receiver to complement the aging Isaac Bruce and maybe even attract a double team to free up young talent like Josh Morgan, or Dominique Zeigler.
