NCAAB  > General NCAAB  > Passing the Dean
December 28, 2010, 02:31 PM
Coach K will likely win his 880th game Wednesday night against UNC Greensboro putting him 1 win ahead of Dean Smith.

I know its hard for Duke haters to accept this and they will find anything and everything to discredit K's accomplishments. But it a historical milestone none the less.

This will not take anything away from what Dean did for UNC and the ACC in general, he is a legend in his own right. It will just add another career accomplisment to the legacy of Coach K and the Duke Blue Devils.

Dean Smith was/is a great man who saw greatness in his players and steered them in the right direction on the court and off. He will never be forgoten, but he will have to sit in the back seat behing Bob Knight and Coach K.........

GO DUKE!!!

I am an avid UNC BB fan, and I have NO Problem with Coach K. He is a class act and one of the best ever.
