I know Werdum beat Overeem but I don't think that would happen again. After winning the K1 grand prix I see Overeem as # 2 heavy in the world. I think Cain would give him fits. But everyone else... Not so sure.

Werdum is way too high, he should be like 8th or so. The rest I have no problem with.
I agree Werdum at number 2?? the same guy that got destroyed by JDS. Of course washed up Fedor is number 2 while Overeem has been fighting 3 times a year and winning tourney is at number 4. He should be number 1 or 2... What a joke of a list.
Werdum and Barnett are both 2 high and in my opinion shouldn't even be on the list. Barnett almost got KO by Yvel while he had Yvel full mount. I think Roy Nelson takes both Werdum and Barnett out.

Overeem has defended his title once in 3 years. I agree, he should not be #4.
Not that just but he has fought way more then Fedor and hasnt lost a fight in MMA since 07 compare to Werdum who got destroyed by JDS.
Swap Lesnar and JDS and I'd be content with that list

100% agreement.

100% agreement.
That bubba has an awesome avatar. Oh yea
QUOTE(#12):
If Overeem looks the way he did against Duffee against top tier guys, he might go to #1 on my list. WOW!
My list would be (using the same fighters):
1. Overeem
2. Cain
3. Fedor
4. JDS
5. Werdum
6. Barnett
7. Silva
8. Lesnar
9. Carwin
10. Mir
Say what you want, Overeem is dominating. K1 is still more MMA than a pure BJJ competition.
I would not fight Cain being on top spot, but IMO i would wait for some more wins from him.
IMO Lesnar Carwin & Mir should slip down. They all come of losses and Lesnar should be on top (since he beat both) but the way he lost, it should get him just above Carwin & Mir.

Now this list I can agree with and looks the most logical. Well done by not putting your idol number 1. lol

These kinds of lists are why I hate rankings. I understand your ranking is based upon logic and who-beat-who, but I think sometimes, in an effort to be "fair" in ranking, we lose sight of a more basic logic. Instead of looking at who lost more recently, let's look at who's better. Do you REALLY believe Antonio Silva is better than Lesnar, Carwin, and Mir? REALLY? Or does he just get bumped up because he lost slightly longer ago than the other three?

Good points.
I know Overeem hasn't beaten any significant HWs in MMA lately, but after watching him the past year or so in K-1 and MMA, I would pick him over any other HW due to his size, strength, and unquestionable skills. If he fought any of the top 10 HWs in the world right now, I can't imagine betting my money on anyone else, that's for sure.
As far as the top 5 go, my personal rankings (based solely on whom I think would win if they all fought each other and whom I would place my money on the most) would be:
1. Overeem
2. Cain
3. JDS
4. Fedor
5. Carwin
Again, those are just personal picks. I know Carwin lost to Lesnar because he shot his load in round 1 and had nothing left in the tank in round 2, but I think he is a more dangerous fighter. I know Werdum beat Fedor, but I personally think Fedor would beat him 8 out of 10 times.

To answer you, I do think he is better than all 3.
Mir lost too many fights to be on any top 5. he got skills, but I can't even put my finger onto why he can't make good game plans or can't fight well against top competition. He changed. That's all I can say.
Lesnar, he was exposed. Come on now. He almost lost to carwin and was completely dominated & exposed by Cain. Obviously if he wins again against good competition, I will bump him right back up, but I can't see it.
As for Carwin, I do think he is good fighter. But I can't think him getting much more experience and skills since he is a full time engineer and is not young. So this is why i don't put him higher.
And as for Silva, I really don't know why the hate.
He is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a black belt in Judo and a black belt in Karate.
He won 8 of his last 9 fights, and his only loss was to Werdum, who actually also beat Fedor.
He is big, strong, and proved he has a huge heart in his last fight!
Just think about it.
I don't know why people don't give credit where credit is due.

While I won't dispute your personal choices, I gotta ask one thing:
I understand why carwin would be picked ahead of Lesnar. but why not Werdum?
I don't understand this hate.
Yes, he beat fedor and probably would lose 8 out of 10 times. Plus he lost to JDS.
But so what?
I would be the same thing as saying GSP is a bum because he got destroyed by Serra.
If anything, he beat Gonzaga, Overeem, Aleksander Emelianenko, Vera and Antonio Silva.
His only losses are to great fighters.
A split decision to Kharitonov, Big Nog (in 2006) , AA (in 2007) and JDS. So all guys had credentials.
Again, I don't think he is the top just because he beat Fedor.
But the same way as people doesn't take him at the top "just because he beat Fedor", then how come theu punnish him so much "just because JDS beat him"?
