Let's assume this is using the current rules of the NBA instead of the 1990's.

the player from 2000-2010 would win, mainly because of the bench (wade an pierce are better than miller and hill) plus garnett size and energy make him a better fit coming out of the bench than barkley. Iverson and Nowitski would be really dificult to match for the player of the 90's.
the only problems could be selfishness (kobe could try to shine too mush before jordan, Iverson could try to score all the points, shaq would demand to have the ball every posetion), softness (pierce would cry after every contact, howard could not take the manly game in the paint from the 90's) and finally leadership (everybody would like to be "the man", while in the 90's team would be the real and only king of basketball MJ).
I'll take the 2000s. I'd love to see Pippen guard "King" James.
1990's easy. Where's Kareem??? Sure he was old but no one including Shaq could stop him. Highest scorer of all time and I'm sure he wasn't retired by then.

I would take the 1990's team by the slightest of margins. Becuase of the huge amount of talent on both teams, I would predict a 7 game series. A Michael Jordan vs Kobe Bryant matchup would be epic. I don't remember ever seeing or reading about a time when Michael Jordan was completely outplayed by someone so good on offense that he couldn't guard that player. Although Kobe is excellent, Jordan is a better defender. Probably neither could shut each other down completely, but I think Jordan could guard Kobe much better than Kobe could guard him. I also think Pippen could neutralize Lebron. With this many stars, Lebron won't be getting the bailout calls that he normally does on his drives to the basket. Lebron's not that great of a shooter. There would be plenty of good defensive help behind Pippen so that if Lebron gets past Pippen he still would have trouble getting to the basket. From when the Cavs played the Celtics in recent years, we've seen that Lebron's jump shooting isn't good enough when a good defensive team takes away his driving lane.

I want to think Shaq is better than Olajuwon, but when they played straight up, Olajuwon outplayed Shaq. I think the Shaq from the Lakers was much better than the Shaq from the 1990's with the Magic. Since the 2000's squad would have Shaq at his most dominant peak, I think Shaq would be the best big man on the floor. However, between him and Dwight Howard, and Tim Duncan, the free throw shooting will be worse for the bigs on the 2000's squad.
