NFL  > Dallas Cowboys  > Dallas Win....

Didn't see much of the game.... but have to wonder how many draft spots we lost with that win? Certainly, you don't throw a game to better your position in the draft, but nothing wrong with evaluating talent that hasn't played much this year when a win does absolutely nothing for your team. What a season.... so much expectations back in training camp and here we are with so many decisions to make with this bunch. Hopefully, we are smiling this time next year with the playoffs coming up, but something tells me we may be feeling the same way we feel right now.

embarassing that they had to eeek out a win with the sole offensive TD in the last 40 seconds against Eagles seconds. how pathetic.

Yes, and the officiating was equally bad for both teams. I saw a spot where I was sure Andy Reid would throw the red flag but ... he didn't really care.

Personally, I was happy to see McGee. Overall, I don't think he did anything to not consider keeping him around. He managed the game fairly well, made some good throws, took off when he needed to and didn't do anything to lose the game.

I'm not ready to proclaim him the next coming of Romo, but we can focus on other areas of need now instead of shopping for a QB.

I noticed he didn't throw a single sideline "out" pattern because he doesn't have the velocity. The DBs would pick him clean if he did and Garrett knows this. Thus everything from McGee was short over the middle. If you want to be a starter in this league you have to be able to throw the 20-yard out ... with authority.

The game was pitiful, summing up a lackluster season. The win knocked them out of a top ten draft pick. The only thing I saw worth watching was DeMarcus Ware, and then he was up against their 2nd and 3rd stringers.

Gentlemen, I see a lot of turnovers in personnel coming, and playoffs are going to be a distant dream. Super Bowl? Even more distant. I may be wrong, and I hope I am, but as long as Unca Jerry "buys the groceries", and continues to trade down in the draft, I see more of the ineptitude for awhile.

Winning that game yesterday vs Philadelphia's 2nd string will probably cost the Cowboys big-time in the draft.

Stephen McGee who QB for Dallas used to play at Texas A&M. A few years ago they faced Cal-Berkeley in a bowl game. McGee repeated what the A&M College Paper (Battalion) said about Cal being full of radicals and that A&M would stand up for America and win 77-0. The media asked him if he had actually ever been to California and he said no but he read his school paper.

McGee spent most of the game on his butt and Cal was using 3rd string by the 2nd half as they didn't want to run up the score. Finally in the last few minutes a walk-on who had never played in a regular game came on for Cal and ran a touchdown on his only college play. Final score 45-10 but it wasn't that close.

Dallas is playing a real dummy and if he is the Cowboy's future -forget it.

That is all BS, BTW. Dennis Franchione didn't know how to coach a quarterback to save his life. McGee spent 4 years running for his life after every snap. Its given him the ability to think on his feet and to be unafraid to tuck and run when he needs to. Franchione was the worst thing to ever happen to A&M, he single handedly screwed up every facet of the game.

The win vs the Eagles cost us maybe 2 spots in the draft...at most, 3....

That is not going to be a huge difference with so many holes on Defense.

Dallas does NOT need to draft a QB early...Kitna will be around for 1 more season and is a good stop gap if we lose Romo for 2 games...if we lose Romo for a season again, it will not really matter who the QB is.

Both saftey spots need to be upgraded and we need another rusher.

Linemen can be found via Free Agency and can be drafted late.

Impact guys are what Dallas needs right now and that is what they should draft.

Romo chokes in the big games. Dallas is better off without him.

Who would you suggest then, Sam?

Franchise QB's aren't a dime a dozen, and Romo beats anything the Cowboys have had since Aikman retired. Kitna's 38 and on his last legs. I think we all were surprised at how well he played this year, after seeing Brad "Noodle Arm" Johnson flounder like a fish out of water when he backed up Romo a few years ago.

I'm just glad this season is over. It's been a few years since those 5-11 Campo years and I ain't in no hurry to go back to that kind of trauma on a yearly basis. So having Garrett as HC for the next couple of years will give us an idea of what he can bring to the table (and he'll start earning that 3 mil per he gets). His Princeton mind and Jimmy Johnson heritage might just serve the Boys well in the coming future. And unless Andrew Luck slips to 10 or 12 in the draft then Romo's the QB, and I got zero problems with that. While Tony was injured Kitna carried the load just fine this year and roy williams lost us more games than McGee did. We need secondary help bad and an O line that can be relied on and for the LOVE OF GOD can someone please just shoot roy williams?!?
And no offense DallasFan77, but "evaluating talent" in week 17 sure sounds a helluva lot like throwing a game so I sure hope that's not what you were hoping Big D was going to do AGAINST THE IGGLES!!!

Happy New Year All.

P.S. I'll bet Auburn's glad as Hell that they're playing oregon and not TCU or STANFORD for the "make believe bowl championship".
