The NFL will pay Harbaugh a lot more than Michigan.
However, Tom Cable is looking for work. NFL guy with player support and showed improvements with the dysfunctional Raiders. College experience at Cal, Colorado, Idaho, and UCLA.

Exactly. but i think the Big 10 is going to suffer from the same things hey have always suffered from. They play in the north and like to run the football and always have. When they play teams from the South in bowl games .... they flat out havent seen anything like it in the Big 10. Screaming fast WR and RBs. Pass happy offenses which throw on every down cause they are that good. You can play that way in the south because of the weather. The only team i have seen go pass happy and not care about weather conditions isnt a college team ... its the patriots.

I dont know how many they have gone thru. But their 2 best candidates are going to sign with them. Harbaugh i think wants to go to the pros. Les Miles has basically a championship team sitting there at LSU for next year which he thinks he can take to the championship game. Best game of thee year next year is gonna be LSU vs Bama and will probably determine who from the SEC is in the championship game.

two things - they're going to be deliberate - they can't get it wrong. and, Harbaugh is holding all the cards right now - he's not going to say definitely no to anyone until he says yes to somebody.

There's always the old dodge of using a go-between agent to screen himself and be able to say that "he has not been in contact", but his agent has.
I think JH isn't interested in Mich, Les is too set up with good players and asst coaches at LSU to leave, and they'll end up either taking Hoke, or some other not-yet-discussed guy.
Hoke. Tressel as the Buckeye's coach, keeps me from worrying about who they hire.

agree except I think Michigan is going to make it as hard as possible for JH to say no which still might not make a difference.

Who the heck knows. I just think Les would be better off at LSU with the goodies he has there, than trying to clean up after RR, IMO.

My money is on Miles and then LSU will start a war in the SEC for assistant coaches. Don't mention St. Nick, b/c he aint going back. This could be the type of opportunity Kirby Smart and Gus Malzhan (sp?) have been looking for and hiring a coordinator will be kosher given FL picking up Muschamp from TX.

Michigan is not taking a coordinator ... no way. LSU might if Miles heads to UM. I just have to think that UM is going to take a former assitant or player.
I can see Kirby Smart at LSU before Malzahn. I have to say though, I bet there are some proven head coaches out there that would love the opportunity to coach at LSU. No rebuilding necessary. Someone like Gary Pinkel from Mizzou (even though he says he doesn't want to go anywhere) or irony of ironies Mike Gundy from Oklahoma St. Not necessarily likely but I wouldn't rule it out.
Someone who wouldn't take it and the rest of us in the SEC should be thankful for is Gary Patterson.
