I think its a good fight to get him back on track in that its a name opponent that everyone respects in Couture if he wins. If he loses then because its to Couture most people will say well it was to Couture not some scrub. Despite the fact Randy is pushing 50. There will be the nay sayers though that will look at it as a lose-lose situation. If he wins he just beat an old man on the downslide, and if he loses well the same thing he just lost to an old man on the down side.

I think it benefits Machida because of Randy's aggressive, pressing style. I thought that was what Machida wasn't prepared for (in either fight) versus Shogun. Shogun just went right at him and kept pressing the fight, Machida couldn't counter because Shogun didn't let up, just kept coming, just like what Randy does. In fighting Randy, Machida gets to fight someone uber-aggressive.
i like this fight. everyone here knows im a big Randy fan. i never liked machida. shogun showed some holes in machidas game that randy can capitalize on, he would def just have to watch out for the striking cuz he doesnt move too quick anymore...i think this is a good matchup
This fight does nothing for me. A guy who wants to clinch vs. a guy that wants to run away. Styles make fights, and these two together don't seem likely to entertain. Also, neither are in serious contention for anything.
