I think you meant to say the Seahawks need 3 wins to reach the Super Bowl, one loss will eliminate them.

The Seahawks are a joke and don't deserve to be in the playoffs. The NFL should get rid of the divisions in the AFC & NFC and reward the six teams with the best won/loss records in each conference.

Oh, the onion. You make my day every day. Apparently though, nobody told the Seahawks they were bad.
Seattle came to play, didn't they? That Earl Thomas went to the same high school I went to, only several years difference.
Wouldn't it be something if the Seahawks make it back to the SB? Unlikely, but wouldn't that be a story for the ages? Especially if they won it..........lol

What about the players from UC Berkley ( aka: Cal, California) Cameron Morrah (TD), Justin Forrset, Marshawn Lynch (TD), and Brandon Mebane (the run stopping attempt at 2 pt conversion by N.O.).
The only expert from NFL network that picked Seattle, Steve Mariucci. Nice pick Mooch. Everyone else said it would be a blowout by N.O. myself included. But I was rooting for the Cal players.
I guess this will end the debate about teams that have terrible seasons yet win their division should not be allowed in the playoffs or that they should be seeded differently. Hey NFL the outcome of this game is good enough reason to cancel that meeting and concentrate on settling the dispute between players and owners so there is no lockout. The rest of the NFC must be breathing easier now that N.O. is gone.

i watched the predictions = mucci picked them sarcastically , knowing that the saints [he thought] would smother the hawks !........i believe he felt ''pity'' towards seattle because everyone else had the saints in the ''W'' column !.....lol !
The point is he picked them as not being blown out like the rest of the Expert Commentators did, even if it was being sympathetic he picked them stay in the game and to possibly win, the circumstances he outlined that they would need to do for a win came true.
When it comes to the playoffs it just goes to show one the regular season records are out the window and everyone starts back at zero on equal grounds, another twist to this crazy season.
I think the worst possible record a team could have and still make the playoffs is 4-12. So how long will it take before we see some team entering the playoffs with a 6-10 or worse record? The bad thing for Seattle is that they are not that deep or strong a team, by winning the NFC West and their first round playoff game they have fallen further down the draft board and their schedule for next year will be a lot more difficult than they are used too. After Miami had that remarkable turn around from worst to best they they tumbled to almost worst and have been stuck there ever since, Seattle will tumble back down the ladder next year.
QUOTE:
The only way for them to finish with a winning record would be for them to win the SB. Like you said. Unlikely.I'm not trying to convince anybody that the west is any good, but the teams that win the division rarely ever go one and done in the playoffs. Of course by winning the division, they are guaranteed 1 home game. But still, you gotta play the game to win no matter where you're at.Two years ago it was Arizona that didn't belong in the playoffs but managed to damn near win the SB. They too were a 4 seed by being the best of the worst. Things lined up for them when Philly got hot and won their first two games as well sending the championship game back to Arizona. This year it is possible for that to happen again. Only it is Seattle and that would mean they would have to beat Chicago next week and GB would have to beat Philly today and ATL next week. We'll see. Maybe Carrol is on to something with the expect to lose method.
Good points. So, it might be interesting that a team with a losing record is in this foray. They just might start thinking they're 10 feet tall and bullet proof........and surprise a lot of people.
