Well put Orac. I'm sorry to see him leave as well. But he's left the team in much better shape than where they were when he arrived.

I'm just glad he's going to the Niners and not Michigan or some other random NFL team.

Doubtful. I think Luck knew what his coach had planned before he made his announcement.

Let the speculation begin on the next coach. If they don't promote from within there would be two names on my short list: Brady Hoke and Mike Belotti. (yeah, the Belotti choice would probably raise the hackles of some of the Stanford faithful. But there's no doubt he'd do a good job.)

Doubt it. I'm sure he and Harbaugh had a very long talk before Luck made his decision. I'd imagine that at that time, Harbaugh had a decent idea of where he'd be next year.

I'd have no problem with either of those guys. In fact, I'd love it!

that's okay...If SF loses every game next year, who do you think Harbaugh will get with the first pick in the draft?

I think the moment that the 49ers fired Singletary Harbaugh knew where he wanted to go and told Luck his decision right after the 49ers asked him to be their coach.
