NFL  > New Orleans Saints  > How Freaking Embarrasing
January 8, 2011, 08:55 PM
Here I sit in disbelief. Disbelief that my team the New Orleans Saints lost to WHO, the
7-9 Seattle Seahawks. A team that doesn't even have a winning record. I don't have a problem with the Saints getting knocked out of the playoffs, but not like this.

The defense did not show up. The took the Seahawks for granted. If the defense would have played like they did in the Atlanta game there would have been a different outcome.

The 4th and inches and they didn't make it. Horrible call. What about the QB sneak. If not that everybody was everybody expecting up the middle. How about a pitch out.

But on most cases I do not blame player execution. I blame coaching.

First go back to the offseason. Remember it was uncapped. The Saints could have made some big moves and improve the team but NOOOOOO. They did something even better, they let some of their good players go without replacing them with equal caliber players.

The only bright side that I do see is that they will be higher on draft board in March.

But I will have fun sitting here watching the playoffs. Anticipating the draft.

I know that feeling. It will get better. With all of the injuries that the Saints had they played fairly well. But the key injuries to me was at running back. And the Saints have been injured badly at the rb position all season. You guys had a good season. And you still have a ring no matter what happened this season.

The Saints reverted back to the aint's of yesteryear. I really enjoyed this game!

Any given Sunday or Saturday any team can win if the conditions are right. For the player on Seattle that were claiming that their poor record was a result of not playing 4 quarters of complete football, let me remind them that in the 1st quarter of this game they looked terrible and who knows maybe N.O. did let their guard when for the first 10 minutes of this game everything seemed to go there way.

Time for our Saints to get rid of Bush. He's in the locker room more than he's on the field ! With Ivory and Thomas on the IR I figured they would be lucky to get a win in Seattle.

As Lynch raced past the outstretched hands of New Orleans defense in the 4th quarter all you could hear from the Saints cheering section was the whisper "Who Dat".

the Saints underrated Seattle and paid the price.

I don't think they underrated Seattle. I think the loss of their running game is what really hurt them. They weren't able to control the pace of the game. Seattle did. Hence the outcome that was reached. You have got to give the Seahawks credit though. They battled and it paid off.

Ouch, it hurts. I hate when people say that our offense/defense/whatever didn't show up. Let's give the Seahawks credit. They did what it takes to win. I must admit must draft vs. playoff interests just changed for the former.
Good point about coaching. Never-the-less, let's keep them they have gotten us this far. Next year will be better.
Happy Mardi Gras!
